Atmosphere and staff were great. Been here a few times. The food was amazing. The coleslaw really was "awesome"! Really good value for money. Will certainly be returning.

Been here many times. Great food, huge portions! Make sure you book a table or you will be disappointed. Look forward to the tuna steaks coming back!

Stopped here for a quick dinner, easily found off the main road. Friendly, prompt service. Enjoyed a really tasty meal. The decor is a bit dated and fogey but don't let that put you off, the food was great. I had a Cajun spiced chicken breast with veg and sweet potato fries. The chicken was tender, juicy and tasted char-grilled,... More

Went here for our wedding anniversary a few weeks back. Booked last minute but the guy in the phone couldn't have been more polite and helpful. On arrival, my wife is disabled and wheelchair bound, the staff helped us into the bar and then into the restaurant. We could have sat in the bar but preferred the more formal surroundings.... More

Came to eat whilst on business. Good food and beer. Former portion-sizes were enormous! Would visit again.

We then waited for our food after ordering. Me and my daughter had steaks and our lads had burgers. Steaks were fantastic and cooked... More

Came across this gem on our way home to London last Saturday. It was getting late, the day had been miserable and at the last place we tried they'd seemed perversely pleased to tell us that food was no longer being served. What a contrast when we found the Wheatsheaf! Welcoming, and with such a light, friendly atmosphere. The beer... More

Generally my first impression of the wheat sheaf has always been good and friendly staff food is of good quality ... I must say though our recent visit - I think we just made the wrong choices - the chilli con carne had too much cheese I had it with chips and my wife with rice which I think was... More

Hi thank you for your review and that on the whole you enjoy your visits to us. I am sorry that on one occasion you didn't enjoy the way one of our meals is served. We have served the chilli this way for the best part of ten years now and it is ordered quite frequently by returning customers. It... More
