Good quality food. Not particularly generous portions and a little expensive. Takeaway Queue and serving time can be slow at busier times. You can eat in but this is even slower.

Wandering round Boston looking for fish & chips & a man directed us to Tate's saying they served the best fish & chips in the country! They were certainly some of the best I've had and have since returned to try them again without disappointment.

Always fantastic food, with wonderful service. Been coming to Tate's since I was a small child, and it is still as good as ever.

This restaurant and takeaway had good reviews. On the day I went, the chips were soggy. At two pounds a portion to take away, they were not worth it. The staff were friendly, though.

I felt welcomed by the staff, placed my order and it was put before me very quickly. New potatoes were used for the chips, delicious and the fish was beautifully cooked. Crisp and crunchy batter and soft tasty fish inside. I was more than happy with this pleasant experience. Thank you.

I always take relatives who visit us from abroad to Tates fish restaurant, and also frequent there myself. I have never had a bad visit, and am sure will never have one.

Went there yesterday with friends as this has always been the best in Boston. However the lovely girl waitress we had was so busy she was bringing food out serving drinks fetching the frying man chips , sausages etcetc which he shouts quite loud!! We left a good tip as we felt sorry for her just hope she doesn't have... More

Prices are reasonable considering how good the food is and you get plenty of it however the restaurant was clearly understaffed when I last visited. The waiting time for the food was a little more than I think is reasonable and the young girl who served us didn't really seem to know what she was doing! Will always visit Tate's... More
