Fancied a trip to Nailsworth with my partner and out two-year-old daughter and came across this place. Beautiful building, great location and setting in the town. Small seated area outside by the brook, kitchen and take-away downstairs with restaurant located up a small flight of stairs. I had the chicken in a bun with tarragon jelly, skin on hand cooked... We frequent call in here at the weekend with the children having walked through the woods. Bacon roll, or eggs Benedict along with a great cup of coffee Good service, good food, the only issue is it is hard to escape without succumbing to buying some of their cakes when you leave! Well worth a visit on your own or... More

I really love it here. The cakes are delicious and we've had a full English breakfast a few times. It is so nice here. The food is really fresh and great quality. The waitresses are really nice. We keep going back, great for a nice relaxed bit to eat. Never been for lunch, but breakfast is great.

I have been in the Hobbs House Bistro for a quick bit a lunch time as well as breakfast. There food is alway tasty but a bit on the expensive side. But that tends to be the area the bistro is situated in.

I'll cut to the chase, I'll give them that their bread is pleasant and looking forward to their chickpea sourdough soon to launch, but this 'bistro' needs a darn good clean, it's got the furnishings that just never look clean, personally not what I want from an eating place. I was uninspired by menu, so didn't eat, but dining buddy... More

Hello, Thank you for your feedback, we are so sorry to hear of your disappointment and apologise for that. I have spoken to our team there, and they have immediately added milk to the children's offering there. We take our coffee very seriously so don't like to hear it wasn't up to scratch. We work closely with Bristol Roastery Extract... More

We stopped here whilst heading for the M5. Passing the array of figure firming cakes, we went upstairs to the bistro. It's simply styled with a couple of comfy sofas tucked away in the corner. We had a breakfast of just toast and coffee. The bread tasted absolutely stunning both seeded and white. Butter and preserves are self service and... More

Having a rotten day at work so decided to spoil myself with lunch from Hobbs House - certainly not the cheapest place to eat but all good stuff, unusual flavour combinations and a lovely way to spoil yourself. Beetroot and lentil wrap, enormous and well-stuffed - couldn't eat it all at once!

Enjoyed homemade burgers with Stilton and mushroom with crunchy chips. The wife had a kale, seaweed and mango smoothy which she enjoyed very much

Food here is great, staff are lovely but the only thing that drops it down to three from five is the acoustics in the dining area upstairs. If it's busy, it's like trying to eat and meet on the concourse of a train platform in regards to noise rather than size. Best thing is to eat quickly and take away... More

Seating is upstairs above the bakery. We had an excellent coffee and a tasty ham and pineapple pizza which was reasonably priced. Walls are decorated with lovely paintings which are for sale. The delicious smell of baking permeates the building. There's additional seating outside by the river.

Description
Our Bistro menu celebrates British food and produce of the South West, making best use of Hobbs House Bakery's handmade bread and wood fired oven. We have a focus on the carefully sourced; everything is bought directly from the producers and cooked with real care and imagination. We put a a strong focus on the traditional cuts of meat from our butchery alongside fish that may have fallen from favour, but lack nothing in flavour. We serve great teas and coffee from local roasters Extract. This is all complemented by a selection of local ales and ciders as well as our comprehensive wine list, put together by Nailsworth-based Raffles Wine. "Hobbs House has become one of the jewels in Nailsworth's crown", Gloucestershire Echo
