Since discovering The Wheatsheaf Inn in Northleach a few years ago, we always try to return there for dinner whenever we are in the UK - usually at least twice a year. Our last visit was terribly disappointing. The food was as glorious as ever but the service was poor from beginning to end and really spoilt our evening. This... More

Stopped for lunch here today, went to the bar asked if they were serving, barman said yes then stood there looking blankly into space, I managed to regain his attention by asking for menus, he said "oh yes, sorry " we went to sit outside and nobody came to take a drinks order let alone food. We left and nobody... More

Came for brothers birthday meal. Had a lovely meal, great food, slightly limited menu however a little slow service and we weren't offered any more drinks when we were sat at the table. When we arrived we had to wait 15 minutes to even get to the bar to find out where our table was. Short staffed for a Saturday.... More

Birthday treat with table for 2 at 8.00pm on a busy Friday evening. Although busy we were warmly welcomedand enjoyed choosing from an interesting menu - sardine starter and asparagus salad both beautiful, lamb dish very enjoyable and subtle, while I had a good quality sirloin steak. Good wine list with very attentive wine waiter - chose a Rioja Reserva... More

We were very surprised at being able to get table booking on a Sunday early evening. We were delighted that we were able to stop off on the way home and enjoy drinks and delicious food. We chose the pub as we had visited before and because it was dog-friendly. We both went for sirloin steak which were cooked well... More

Arrived here a little late (8:45 pm) on a Friday night without a reservation and the place was packed. Lots of well heeled locals enjoying themselves. We were fortunate to get a table in the back bar. Waiter was incredibly nice and attentive. Rowdy bunch at the bar eventually got their table in the main dining room so we had... More

The food here is excellent and the bar is fun. I was an American woman traveling alone, so I was remembered and well cared for. A great spot!

A lovely pub literally from all angles - there are some lovely gardens at the back where you can rest a while, tie up your horse and have a swift half (got a bit carried away). But it really is a lovely spot in a lovely village (town) and well worth a visit. Interestingly the prices were more than £1... More
