Our visit was for a function and as such we were in the ballroom, which has a reasonable size dance floor with a poor surface, needs a good clean and polish! the lunch was chicken with properly cooked vegetables, which was edible but plain and ordinary, for example roast potatoes were different in appearance on some plates and were left in... Having been unable to eat at the Hotel we had booked, we toured Harwich to find a restaurant that was open (few) and could accommodate us. We visited the Cliff on the recommendation of a local in a nearby pub. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the bar staff and waitresses and shown to a table overlooking the sea.... More

It made a huge improvement with new owner and new chef! The food was boring and on average before the changeover. Now the restaurant is redecorated and is quite pleasant and welcoming. Interesting food on menu card but expensive. We chose food from the Today's Special, well presented home cooked food, also delicious.

Food is good but expensive for what is served. A new owner is in place and plans to improve the experience is on going. Service can be quite slow at times but am sure this will improve in time. The views of the sea front and the large ships going into Felixstowe Port are excellent.

We have visited the Cliff fairly often for a drink but never quite fancied eating here until our most recent visit on 2nd April. As soon as we entered, the hotel felt different, much more welcoming and with new décor furniture and menu. We decided to have lunch and it was a really good experience. The food was home cooked... Really good food and much more interesting menu. If they continue like this and smarten up the rest of the hotel, it will be a favourite place to eat with the best view in town. Keep up the good job, good luck to the new owners!

For all our reviews we just write what we saw and got, hopefully they help others to make their own mind up if it's right for them. We were part of a large group that had booked the hotel for a wedding over the weekend (Friday and Saturday). The hotel is right on the sea front, but it was March... More

We stayed in room 5 for a family wedding. The wedding service was amazing and the food was lovely. The rooms are a different story unfortunately. The decor is very dated, there are chunks missing from the door (it also moves whenever someone else opens their door), the floor creaks and moves, a pipe above the door was leaking, one... More
