We stopped off here for a late lunch (3pm) and some cake, sat in the courtyard. A lovely quiet spot tucked away down market street at the side of the post office and through a little antiques arcade (closes at 4pm). The waitress cleared our table from the previous customers but it could have done with a wipe too! I... More

Lovely spot, very tasty food, good service. You can't pay by card but can get cash out at the adjacent post office. Banana milkshake really good!

Tucked away behind the post office and a indoor market , this is a great place to take a break and refreshments. Indoor and outdoor seating, good value.

We saw the Penny Black mentioned and wanted to check it out, we're so glad we did. I now have 2 daughters addicted to Coke Floats and Nutella Milkshakes. The penny Black makes a delightful quiet stop in Lyme Regis and can provide wonderful cakes and drinks to the weary holiday maker, all with a touch of 50's glamour. We... More

We found this cafe after browsing in the indoor market and the post office. It looked inviting, decorated in a lovely vintage style, even the hostess was dressed beautifully in 1950's style, right down to her hair. Scrummy cakes and milkshakes, and dog friendly. Had delicious cakes, cappucinos and milkshakes. Love it. Gorgeous hostess, immaculate surroundings, friendly atmosphere. Would definitely return... More

I checked out the reviews of this place so I was really looking forward to my cooked breakfast. The people who run it are nice but the my breakfast was a bit tasteless and my partners toasted tea cake was burnt.

The title says it all really, how an English cafe should be, good tea and coffee and excellent food, wifey had a cream tea and I had scrambled egg on toast with bacon, simple food served as tasty as its meant to be! Great work keep it up 👍

What an enchanting and delightful tearoom this is! Nestled behind the Post Office in Lyme Regis (in what I guess is the old sorting office), there is a beautiful tea room run by motivated and energised real people with a sense of style. The tea was fab, the food was wonderful, and the banter was a joy.
