Maybe we came on a bad day. It took a long time for the lady of the house to make us welcome and bring menus (there were two family parties in front of us, but even so). The food took a while, but that was not a problem. When it came we were a bit disappointed, having read the reviews.... More

Called in here on a bank holiday and although they were busy, the staff found time to chat and provide a lovely welcome. We only had a drink and some 'triple cooked chips' but we were made to feel that we had spent a fortune - and the chips were absolutely lovely! We'll definetely be back for a meal next... More

New Year's Eve dinners are always dangerous. They can be too expensive, too noisy, too busy; the food can be bad even in the best places and the service hasted and rude. Not so at the Millside. The restaurant is in a historic building in the heart of Lyme Regis, where the river Lim flows across the old town. We... More

Having gone to Lyme Regis on Sunday and had a tour round the mill, we all came out ready for lunch!!. The Millside was almost opposite, and the volume of customers inside swayed us. The lunch was delicious, my wife & her brother had the beef, while I had the Lamb. The veg was cooked beautifully, and all the staff... More

Booked for Sunday lunch, choice of roast beef or belly pork Scrumptious meal, with lovely veg. I would have scored it higher if the meal was a tad warmer. Service was charming, and the peanut butter pudding as described in the reviews, fab u lous We will definitely return

Booked a table on line, immediate reply by email confirming table and checking on any special requests. Lovely venue, staff so friendly and polite. Great selection of food, which was excellent. Very accommodating when we asked for changes to their menu. Beautiful setting near the mill.

Went with a friend and I had the Dorset neck of lamb fillet and she had the belly of pork. Both meals were excellent. To finish she had sticky toffee pudding and I had a rum pannacotta with raisin purée - both delicious. We would highly recommend this little gem

Lyme Regis has its fair share of duff places to eat, as well as some very pricey ones. The Millside is neither duff nor ferociously expensive; we had an excellent dinner there, including pork belly and accompanying vegetables that were cooked to perfection. We'd booked on spec without checking on Trip Advisor, and found the whole experience better than we... More

Excellent food, very friendly staff, relaxed setting -- it doesn't get much better than this! Run by a husband & wife team, the menu is varied and innovative, but on the expensive side. Advisable to book for dinner, especially at weekends
