As the title says - perfect fish and chips! Old fashioned take away with a cafe on the side. Great service and wonderful food. They even serve “scraps” not seen that since I was a kid....a nice trip down memory lane!

Any trip to Padstow would be incomplete without having fish and chips at Stein's Chippie. As a staunch Englishman who loves his fish and chips, this would have to be one of the best examples of this quintessential dish in the country. Thank you Rick...More

Overpriced portion of very small piece of oily battered cod ,and over cooked chips must be the worst fish and chips i have in years!!

To be fair, expected more when we stopped by for some chips from here on a little trip to our favourite Padstow. You might say chips are chips, but we've had better locally to us in Bude, much better. Maybe it was an off day.

Great food but the manageress is such a lovely welcoming lady. We always come back and she is always just so helpful and professional Rick Stein make sure you pay her well, she's worth her weight in gold.

This is a great place and they do offer a vegetarian menu. The only problems arise because the place stinks of lard! Yep - super fish and chips, but the extractor system sucks and we all left stinking. If your are taking food away then...More

No I don’t think so, you can have the fish grilled. But I suppose it’s the traditional schtick that makes it so good.

Stein's Fish & Chips boasts both a restaurant and takeaway, located in Padstow on the beautiful North Cornwall coast overlooking the Camel Estuary. You'll find a menu of cod and haddock together with a large range of local fish like hake, monkfish, John Dory and bass which is often landed right here on our doorstep in Padstow. Our fish is coated in our homemade batter and deep fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp and we serve our own mushy peas and curry sauce as well as our homemade mayonnaise-based tartare sauce.
