I have had take away fish and chips from Rick Steins fish and chips twice and both times they have been lovely the fish and chips have been perfect, the homemade tartare sauce was nice too.

Only stopped off for a bag of chips just so we could say we had had visited one of Rick Stein's establishments. Chips are cooked in beef dripping, and it really makes the difference. Delicious.

Quite simply the best fish and chips we have ever had. Seating area really well done, welcoming for families with friendly, attentive staff. Perfect!

Greasy spoon, or plastic knife and fork! I opened my container to find it dripping with fat, horrible, the taste was vile, I was not impressed at all.

Stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed. I had cod and chips with a beer, followed by a lovely cheesecake. My daughters had the cod bites and we all enjoyed the food. The waiting staff were amongst the friendliest I've ever encountered. I thought the prices were very reasonable too. Thoroughly recommend a visit to eat here.

We visited Padstow for a Sunday stroll but arriving in the misty damp weather were very despondent, that was until we decided to have fish and chips for lunch. We were going to eat in the car but on checking found that they had space in their canteen style restaurant. The waiting staff were really friend. A very petite blonde... More

Came down to Padstow on Valentine's Day for my partners birthday. We queued outside for approx half hour, mainly down to us needing a high chair. However, whilst waiting we were given chips with samples of sauces which was a nice touch. Once in, the service was friendly & swift. The food was simply scrummy. My partners son said he... More

I had expected something very special as it is Rick Stein . However the fish and chip shop is not pricey and so the meal is a good value and lovely but not the exceptional meal I had been expecting.

We were so looking forward to sampling the fish and chips at Stein's but I wish we hadn't. Poor service with disinterested staff, over priced fish and chips and then a quarter of my chips were scraps. I cannot recommend eating there. Rick you need to go back to basics and check in what's happening at your fish and chip... More

Stein's Fish & Chips boasts both a restaurant and takeaway, located in Padstow on the beautiful North Cornwall coast overlooking the Camel Estuary. You'll find a menu of cod and haddock together with a large range of local fish like hake, monkfish, John Dory and bass which is often landed right here on our doorstep in Padstow.

Our fish is coated in our homemade batter and deep fried in beef dripping to make it really crisp and we serve our own mushy peas and curry sauce as well as our homemade mayonnaise-based tartare sauce.
