We sat in the delightful courtyard to the rear of the restaurant as we had out small dog with us but great atmosphere and a gem of a place. I tried an Indian dish dish whilst my partner went for the more traditional local fish. Both excellent.

We were on honeymoon and dropped in for a relaxed lunch with no time constraints at all. We stayed most of the afternoon and really cannot say enough positive things about this establishment. The food was scrumptious, the service level hit the perfect balance of attentive but not intrusive. The atmosphere was simply delightful. This is one of the best... More

We always have our last lunch here and it never disappoints , light and airy and a friendly serving staff. Food is always different and takes you through some of Ricks book favourites. We always have the salt and pepper prawns as it's a family favourite, and today the fish chilli burger was a decent lunch filler before our .... More

We came here for our wedding anniversary on recommendation. It did not disappoint. There was plenty of choice on the menu including a 3 course meal for just over £23. It is a small place which adds to its charm. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. You can choose whether you have a glass, a carafe or... More

Very busy Cafe, but what a delicious meal we had! My husband chose the Lemongrass Plaice Fillets and I ordered the Cod Curry. They were both mouth-wateringly good! On walking in, we were put off slightly because it seemed a bit chaotic and noisy. There were no tables available and the waitresses looked stressed. We asked whether they could fit... More

Booked online, great table, fabulous food. It's all been said before...but the service was impeccable, friendly attentive absolutely spot on, get that girl from Rossendale and you'll be sorted. Can't wait to return, a real treat but so unstuffy and a real pleasure.

When booking Cornwall Rick Steins Cafe was on the top of the list of things to do.. I was excited to come here but left underwhelmed. We had a table for 7 which we waited about an hour for - on arrival a drinks order was taken and drinks arrived promptly.. starters arrived about 20/30 mins after ordering - I... More

We visited Rick Stein's Cafe on a Wednesday evening and had a great experience, the food was really tasty, using fresh, local produce and three courses cost £23.50 each. The restaurant was full and booking prior to visiting is a must as people were being turned away. Service very professional and friendly, we would definitely return in future.

Having been before, this time last year, we were looking forward to our breakfast out. But service was slow, despite restaurant being no more than half full and then when the food arrived we were all a bit disappointed. Either the plates have got bigger or the portions have got a lot smaller. Not only smaller, but each element was... More

It was 2.45, the cafe was packed and it shuts at 3.00 pm. The staff welcomed us, found a table and acted as though they were just coming on shift not off. There was no rush and we enjoyed shared main courses (salt and pepper prawns, masala mussels), both unusual and delicious. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, every detail... More
