Excellent starters. Pork main couse underwhelming and tasteless. Chocoalte dessert too over powering and unpleasant. Staff had been trained to ask regimented questions and make stock responses but largely unable to act on what they were told.

With a re-fit under their belts, No 6 has moved to a completely different level. Still the same gorgeous food and attention to detail, yet blink and you would believe you were in London. The new look No 6 ties in beautifully with the Padstow Town House and sets the bar high for Cornwall. If you've visted this restaurant before,... More

At the end of 2016 Mr and Mrs Ainsworth decided that their already perfect Michelin starred restaurant needed a lick of paint and maybe some shelves in the kitchen, and ideally this could be done in January while they were away and all be ready for opening sometime in February. What seems to have happened is that the builder and... More

We were recommended to visit No 6 from the owner of the B&B we stayed at who regularly visits. They had just reopened a few days earlier after a refit. The place is lovely, very cosy and has a wonderful feel about it. It is a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The new... More

We had experienced a problem with a booking we made for friends and I complained to express my disappointment. I was contacted by the restaurant Manager, Alex and we arranged for us to visit on New Year's Eve for lunch. This reservation cannot have been easy as they were fully booked and made a special exception for us. From the... More

Always enjoy coming to No. 6 when we visit Cornwall. The staff are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all of the food which made catering to a severe food allergy simple. The whole menu can be tailored to meet gluten free requirements and they offer delicious gluten free rolls. The menu is innovative with little but incredible choice!

We had booked our meal here some months ago and were very excited in advance of this. Right from the moment we stepped inside the staff were so friendly welcoming and very professional. We were treated to one of the best dining experiences alongside genuine enthusiasm for the food and wine from all the staff who served us. We had... More

We have just had 6 days in Padstow and enjoyed some great meals and our final one was lunch at Paul Ainsworth's Number 6. Noting its reputation we were really looking forward this and pleased to say that it didn't disappoint ! There were 4 of us in the party and for starters we opted for the 'smoked haddock', 'Porthilly... More

When you're in Padstow it can feel like you've walked into one persons town as he's so dominant...but this restaurant is fantastic food of the highest tastiest best. The house and warm welcome make you feel at home. Everything is cooked or prepared to sheer perfection I would without any hesitation advise that you visit here

We visited with family in order to give our children a taste of fine cuisine from No 6's reasonably priced set lunch menu. Their smoked haddock starter (in a Jerusalem artichoke soup, served with caviar chantilly and finished with parsley oil) was a 'stop the clocks' experience. Even my 14 year old was rolling his eyes in delight. I genuinely... More
