Visited the bistro for my birthday, whilst on holiday in July 2016, on a Tuesday evening. The food was tasty, without giving a "wow" factor that would make me want to return in a hurry. We also felt a bit let down by the decor and some other touches that a bistro owned by a top chef should offer. I... More

My husband and I ate here on a rare child free night out and we're very glad we chose it. We booked well in advance but still could only get a 6pm booking as it was already busy. This suited us but book well ahead of you want the more popular times. The food was delicious - fish for me... More

Not all its built up to be and very disappointed, service average and food not great, had the very expensive steak and sent it back as way overcooked, shame but you don't always get what you pay for over priced and over rated

We were expecting a high quality experience however we found that although the food was all extremely tastey it was very expensive and that you could eat the same quality food and dishes at other restaurants for a much lower price. The service was a bit slow and not very attentive due to how busy the restaurant was and it... More

A birthday evening out did not turn out as planned. While he starters were good, the Spanish Red better, the main of Chateaubriand was overdone and flavorless. Dry as a bone. Of course as it took over 25 minutes from ending the starters to get the main, any chance of getting a satisfactory solution meant a very (more so than... More

The food and service are excellent as you would expect from a first class restaurant. Sadly you cannot say the same about the ambience. The wooden seats are naturally very hard and uncomfortable, cushions would not be amiss. Also the restaurant is very noisy.

Have been a few times before and the lunches have always been great value. This time we had duck / pork pate, chicken and banana, peanut and salted caramel sauce. All great but the dessert was to die for and possibly one of the best I have ever had. Will be back and offered good value although I would say... More

Looked on trip advisor after booking a table and didn't know what to expect as a variety of different reviews but it was amazing! Booked online with ease although a little note when making a booking asking for the table back after 1 hour 45 mins but don't let that put you off! Service and kitchen very fast! My partner... More

Really well run restaurant, friendly well informed staff, with an excellent menu. The steaks from the grill were superb and the fish dishes looked very good. It is what you expect from a Rick Stein restaurant. Parking in Padstow is a nightmare suggest you use the park and ride unless you arrive early in the day.

Food was OK, service prompt. Very crowded on a Sunday night, so were seated in the bar which was a bit cramped. Since there are loads of other places to eat in town would probably not return.
