Just don't go here it's dreadful , £9.50 for a crab & cucumber sandwich on basic bread with the cheapest margarine I accept that steinstow will attract a premium but this dump defies belief Nuked steak burger £12 , unsure of meat type as it was more gristle than meat , cheapest possible chips that tasted like they had been... Went in to watch the six nations Wales vs England game. Great atmosphere. Never waited long to be served despite the fact the pub was so busy.

Had a simple meal of main course and wine at this pub on a wet winter's evening. The interior was quite smart and the menu choice attractive. Staff came to ask if our meal was OK, better service than some restaurants. Food wise we had steak and chips, but the meat was average and the chips overcooked. Liver and mash... More

We went for dinner on a Thursday evening to The Old Ship Hotel. We both ordered from the specials board - monkfish wrapped in parma ham for me and beef bourguignon for him. Both meals were delicious. The restaurant, although in a bar, had an up-market atmosphere and the service was really good. We went back a few times for... More

We went there for a Sunday roast for my friend's Birthday last weekend. I have never seen so little Beef served up for a roast before! I was very disappointed and asked the waiter if it was possible to have a bit more. The waiter told me that he would bring some more out, but it never arrived! My roast... More

Regularly visit Padstow and always make sure we eat several times at the Old Ship! Fish and chips were amazing, burgers great, veggie options good. Dogs welcome. Friendly staff. What's not to like?!

It's raining today so we sat outside with the dogs, asked the grumpy chap behind the bar to put on the outside heater so we didn't have to bring wet dogs in the pub. He said when he was free he would light it! Waited half hour while he seemed to be free he didnt bother, so we didn't bother... More

Enjoyed a nice meal here in January. Although the pub was very quiet the atmosphere still seemed ok. Food was ready quickly and was cooked to order. The fish was lovely and the squid dish we ordered was also very good indeed. Overall if you're looking for good pub grub at medium (not cheap) prices, then this is a place... More
