We'd been told to visit the Albatros .... and so we duly did. Tried to get there early Sunday morning only to discover it didn't open until noon, so we put off our visit until later in the week. We called in for snack pancakes, and went for the "adult sized" pancakes (myself and our 5 and 7 year olds).... More

If you are wanting a drink with a difference you must go here. Unfortunately we were too early for the food but I am told the pancakes are to die for. The drinks and experience though are excellent and it is typical 'Wells' Give it a try.

This bar on a boat is a lovely setting to watch the tide come in. They serve three types of ale direct from the cask as well as the usual other refreshments. Dogs are welcome, but as it is a barge there are steep steps into the downstairs bar area, but on a sunny day, with a gentle breeze and... More

Great quirky little place on a boat. It was very busy but we didn't mind. On a beautiful day that is to be expected. Laid back with a hippy atmosphere. We enjoyed an ale and a coke along with prawns and crab. If you are in shirt or expect fancy, not for you. If you want relaxed friendly and quirky,... More

We stopped to have a drink aboard this boat which has been turned into a pub. There is an option to eat/drink on deck or below deck. We stopped for a drink below deck which had a cosy atmosphere and relaxed feel. The stairs however would be tricky for those with limited mobility or after a few drinks though! Overall... More

Parked quite close to The Albatros, and as we all walked back to the car we couldn't resist climbing aboard for a quick drink before we left Wells-next-the-Sea. Great warm welcome and pleasantly surprised by the collections of decent beers and spirits housed below deck. Spent a warm, friendly and thoroughly enjoyable hour or so on deck having a drink... The Albatros is one of those rear spots on earth that is just awesome to watch the ebb and flow of the tide and have a pint of Nelsons Revenge. Very special - I recommend to all and have been frequenting here for the past 4 years (or whenever it was that the captain decommissioned the ship)

All aboard this lovely boat, enjoyed the lovely pancakes , amazing. Watching the wildlife on the water and the sun go down, beautiful. And later in the evening live music down stairs, cosy and intimate.
