My partner and I and his children managed to get a table outside last night. The children enjoyed their sausages and mash and my partner enjoyed his special pork tenderloin. My dish was tasty,!king prawns with linguine though I thought there was too much tomato...More

This is a big operation and can get very busy. Lovely location overlooking the green; the Buttlands. Manages to combine pleasant traditional pub with extensive tables for food service. Since we last ate here with the dog there are many more bar tables which are...More

Looking for something to eat, just by chance came across this pub garden doing pizzas in a pizza oven, best pizza I’ve had for a while. Only disappointment was the long queues at the bar, didn’t seem to be very organised to manage the influx...More

Superb that you enjoyed our delicious wood-fired stone-baked pizzas so much, they really are excellent! You came during an exceptionally busy period and whilst we try to minimise queueing, sometimes even with 5 staff on the bar, the influx is so great that people have...More

Arrived and the waiting staff were welcoming and pleasant. Ordered as recommended by our “cheeky chappy” confident young man waiter. The bread came and was completely stale, dry and with spots of mould. This was totally denied. We were told it came out of the...More

Do take the time to read this response: In all our literature and on every email sent as confirmation of a table booking, it clearly states that dogs are not permitted in the main part of the restaurant. We invite only our residents who have...More

A very unassuming place, you may not think from the outside and the bar that the food would be as good as it is. I recommend booking a table in advance so you can sit in the restaurant area rather than the pub side. The...More

Great to read your lovely review about children's food. We cook everything from scratch as you would at home, children are important and that's why we try to give them a nice, homely, homecooked menu to choose from.

Great place for a drink and people watch as they go to the carnival. No glasses thou all plastic when it’s carnival time so you can go onto the butlands.

Glad you enjoyed the carnival and The Globe. Thanks for your understanding about the plastic glasses, there are so many children on the Buttlands and one broken glass would be a disaster.
