Had a lovely lunch with a couple of pints here today. Beer kept well and food good value and tasty. But you need to be aware this is cash only,no cards accepted. Would happily eat there again.

We came across this gem of a pub when we were staying overnight in the town in march. Food was excellent, it's a spotlessly clean pub, i had my pint delivered by a model train that runs along the bar, fantastic ! The landlord can...More

Nice traditional pub, good food and a friendly landlord. Everyone using the over-crowded Wetherspoons and over priced hotel bars locally are missing a treat!

Would visit this place much more but have never met such a grumpy landlord. Felt as though I was doing him a favour, whilst being nuisance being there. Also short changed after buying a round of drinks and made to feel it was my fault.

Thanks to Trip Advisor we went to this pub after the Kings Lynn 10k. It's a traditional pub with unbeatable real ales and proper traditional pub food for adults and kids. We had a home cooked Sunday roast which was excellent and my son had...More

Lovely home cooked food - generous portions. Views upstairs lovely. Yes, landlord is a character and pub opening hours are a mystery but worth a visit. Better than Wetherspoons!!

It was a toss up between a quick pint in Wetherspoons who have occupied the Globe and the Crown & Mitre which is not quite next door but hidden at the end of Ferry street, just off the Tuesday Market Square. I made the right...More

Traditional pub food cooked really well to order. Fantastic views and great service. You have to see the cool train on the bar!

We were a little unsure about eating at the Crown and Mitre due to some disparaging reports about the supposedly rude landlord, he turned out to be a local historian with an extremely dry sense of humour and a wealth of knowledge about the pub...More

if you are coming with larger numbers then yes as we only keep a smaller supply of fresh meat as our butcher delivers daily. However booking is always advised if you would like to visit on a sunday lunchtime.

Description
We are a grade 2 listed building built as private houses in the 1600's and converted into a pub in 1743. Since that date the premises have retained not just the name but also the licence. We have been independently owned and run since 1994 by our charming landlord Roger. We are in a great riverside spot, lots of interesting naval and nautical memorabilia to come and see and up to six well kept ales from small independent breweries , good value, home style, freshly cooked food, Enjoy a view of The Great Ouse from our raised vinery. or join us in the dining room with our beautiful rustic fireplace. well behaved dogs are also welcome here.
