The price at this restaurant was definitely made up with the quality of the delicuos food. With a wide variety of courses this restaurant offers great, friendly service and pretty mountain views. Quite an expensive restaurant, but definitely worth it if you buy the right...food. I highly recommend the octopus starter and the lamb main course complimented with a fruity rose wine.More

Perfect! Whatever you occasion, you need to try El Tessoro. Spent a lazy, sumptuous 3 hour lunch last weekend, and when not enjoying and admiring the food...taking your eyes off the view of the Straits is hard to do. Thank you El Tessoro for being...where you are, thank you for the relaxed atmosphere:- totally unrushed, and thank you for probably the best steak I have ever enjoyed.More

We went with friends ... there were around 26 of us and they did a fantastic job of keeping the food and wine flowing. The food was really really good and cooked to perfection. The view is stunning and it the place generally has a...calm and chilled vibe. Great spot, watch the cows on the road on the way up!More

Wow. On our last full day in Spain our friends arranged for a meal at El Tesoro. This restaurant is in the hills south and west of Tarifa, up a winding and ill-maintained road that at some point turns to dirt. Cattle and horses at...times block the way. But the journey is worth the effort, because El Tesoro offers a wonderful dining experience. This restaurant is in an old home, and the first thing you'll notice is the spectacular view from the property. Our large party sat on the generous patio, where we received constant, professional service. We ordered a number of starters to share, and everyone selected their own entree, a decision that resulted in us all being overfed! The food was absolutely spectacular. My wife had the chicken, which was super fresh and apparently raised on the property. It was also enormous - the largest chicken breast I've ever seen! I had the goat shoulder. I am a goat fan, and this was among the best I've ever had, roasted to perfection with some wonderful scalloped potatoes as accompaniment. The wines were all quite good too. If you find yourself in Tarifa, do yourself a favor and take the time to dine at El Tesoro. You will not be disappointed! Cheers! RodMore

We noticed an ad in local paper and decided to find this place. Not easy but worth the time to find it. Had steak and corvina both made to perfection. The view is outstanding and device friendly and informative about the general area. Prices fair.

It's not easy to get the place, but if you follow the Google maps instructions you'll easy find the restaurant. It's on the top of a mountain so you'll have good views of the Valdevaqueros beach and the countryside. It's suggested to book in advance,...because there aren't a lot of tables outside. The place is well know because the steak dishes specially "chuletón de retinto". Salads are also ok, and we loved the desserts, try the "higos con arroz con leche" a kind of fig with some licour and sweet rice, you will like it.More

This is a must go. The location is beautiful, kind of lost in the countryside (bumpy roads :)) but once you arrived the view is breathtaking. Nice people and great local food.

I've returned here at least once a year for the last five or six. The views on a clear day are unbeatable, and the food has always been excellent.

Great scenic spot! Not only the views to the sea and Tarifa but also to the nearby mountains are fantastic. Admittedly, there are better gourmet restaurants. But the combination of good food and wine quality, the stunning location and the outstanding friendliness of the hosts...make it a clear "must have been spot".More

This restaurant was recommended by friends who used to live here and it was a fabulous experience. It is absolutely a MUST if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed. My husband and I own restaurants, so we know it's difficult to...get a starter, main course, dessert, and drinks right. El Tesoro gets EVERYTHING right. Our food was delicious and fresh. You can tell that the ingredients are high quality and they take great care in making their food. Jesus and Juana (the owners) came out and greeted us personally. It was a slow night, so Jesus stood around and chatted with us quite a bit. We had a wonderful time talking to him, which made our experience even more special. Everything we had was incredible, A delicious salad with warm goat cheese and a honey/balsamic dressing that practically melted in my mouth, tuna sauteed in a ginger sauce (my mouth is watering just thinking about it) and an incredible dessert with figs and rice pudding. It's not easy to get up to this restaurant, but once you do, the food, views, and company are SO worth it. Go there and enjoy!!!More

I was recommended this place by a Spanish lady who works in a Madrid market, so the pressure was on for me to be impressed. It had been very 'bigged up'. I went here for my birthday lunch during a trip through the south with...my visiting parents. We hauled the car up the ludicrous dirt road into the mountains and finally reached El Tesoro. The views and the location were astounding. I mean I could have eaten an underwhelming ham sandwich here and still given the place five stars. The service was warm and friendly, a little slow, but in a relaxed carefree way. This was not a meal to rush, especially after reaching the remote little restaurant. The wines were tasty and a lot of them were local and well priced. In fact the whole place was very well priced. They could have charged an absolute mint for the location, but didn't. It was cheaper than a standard restaurant in London. The food was very tasty. Some mind blowing chicken and beef croquetas, a fresh mature tomato salad, and a stupidly tasty steak (my parents had the goat leg). I felt like we were in some Dionysian heavenscape with fine wines, hearty food and top of the world views. There are not many places like this. Try and go!More
