I ate a paella yesterday at Ayo located on the fabulous beach - Playa Burriana. It was fresh and tasteful. I was alone, most restaurants require that 2 individuals order a paella but instead, I was allowed to get as many portions I wanted. It cost me 7.50 euros for a quality lunch. We see the chef cooking the actual... More

We came here for lunch after exploring Nerja. The place was busy - always reassuring! We tried the paella and the prawns were fresh and tasty! It wasn't the most amazing paella but nice enough and you could also go for seconds if you felt like it. It was also fun watching them prepare everything. This is a must if... More

We always come here for Paella. We love the set up and seeing them cook on the huge pans. some look like family and you get a sense they have been doing this for years. It's a happy place with good service and of course lovely surroundings as it's right by the beach. Paella is simple, I love the checkered... More

Otherwise highly praised Ayo is a normal, middle class chiringuito. You sit in plastic chairs in the sand. Food is bland, service is non-caring.

We only called in a couple of times around 10 in the morning for coffee, which was very welcome on cold winter mornings. Friendly staff. We were planning to return for the famous paella, but decided against when we read reviews saying it was touristy and mainly chicken.

This is so well known in Nerja. We usually stop for morning coffee and toast. Great view of the beach, and people passing by.

We had lunch here and of course had to have the paella. It was great watching it being prepared and even better to eat! It was very busy and rightly so. That makes for a nice buzzy atmosphere, You can go back for more if you can manage it which makes it great value. It is a must to visit... More

I love Ayo's Paella. I could eat it everyday. Always have it 3 or 4 times in a week when we are here. I love a cold beer with it. I never drink beer at home, but it's one of my favourite meals

For their paella. Might not be the most authentic but it's still seriously good. Perfect for lunch!!!

We came here for the paella, which was tasty enough, but not that great compared to others we tried in Malaga. The pros: very fresh prawns, and free refills of your plate (appreciated by my teenage son!)The cons: no other seafood present in the dish, but lots of chicken instead. It did however have a nice vibe, and was very... More
