Unfortunately the food here is terrible. We ordered albondigas which were stone cold in the middle and had to be sent back. Fish which was obviously not fresh and overcooked. And grilled sardines that had not had their scales removed and were under cooked. I...have never left a restaurant halfway through a meal but unfortunately had to leave this place.More

Sad to say that this restaurant don’t deserve this perfect spot. The food was not good. The meat was poorly made and the chicken was dry.

Took a street side table. Looked like a nice location and pictures on wall of dishes looked good. However we had a very surly unfriendly waiter (there was a nicer guy working too but he did other tables)- no smile/chat etc. However the big disappointment...was the food. We ordered garlic bread for starter which was ok but didn't finish as the bread was oversoaked with garlic - we often order this dish but this was particularly poor. However big disappointment was main course which we both ordered. It was pork in breadcrumbs - deep fried. I cant remember the Spanish name. it was inedible and we both left most of the dish. Even a serrated knife could hardly penetrate this poor quality, rubbery meat! When the waiter picked up our places he could see most of the meat was left on the plates and made no comment when I said it was very poor food. He just walked away. It was by far the worst meal we had during our week there - we are regular visitors to Nerja - but would recommend avoiding this place. Poor food and poor service was our experience.More

This restaurant has been there a while and is good for tapas but our dinner wasn't very appealing...menu is photos with numbered descriptions but my meal was slightly cold and way too much food stacked on the plate it put me off before I started...

Great location for a Spanish meal. The street is really busy so try and sit outside to do some great people watching. We had paella marinera which was very tasty and a generous portion. The service was a little slow but that didn’t spoil the...evening, we just drank more wine and relaxed.More

Hi,my wife and I were out looking for somewhere for a meal and after going to two or three other places first that were full, we passed La Taberna and seen a couple of seats empty and decided to try here, bad move. I will...make this short, wife ordered the Pork Chops/Medallions, when they arrived I said to the waiter, it was Pork she ordered, he said that's Pork, it was dark meat, not white as you would expect, my wife said it was like rubber, obviously if it was Pork, it was the cheap piece which should be stewed, not fried, her veg was cold and she slid her plate aside as she couldn't eat it. I chose the Mussels and Langostine Piri Piri, firstly Mussells should not be served in half shells, as you do not know if the mussel had opened,as unopened Mussels should always be discarded, secondly, Langostine should read small prawn, and it was void of ant flavour whatsoever,The worst Piri Piri Iv'e ever had. We quickly asked for the bill and waited at least 10/15 minutes meanwhile the waiter just stood outside watching the world go by, and also glancing at my wife's full plate pushed aside never once asking if something was wrong, eventually I asked again for the bill, and he said oh you want the bill, no problem sir. There are so many good places to eat nearby, maybe that's why they were full. The only time this place would be full is when first timers like myself would be there, but there would never be a second. Stay Away, so many good places to chose from.More

Me and my girlfriend decided to try this place out, we had previously gone by this place multiple times and it was allways full, so we thought it would be good. I ordered meatballs, and my gf ordered grilled octopus. It was uneatable, my spanish...meatballs had absolutely ZERO flavour, and i really think it had been microwaved, because we got the food in about 5 minutes. My girlfriends food was also tasteless. This is the first time I ever put an review up on tripadvisor, but you should really not go to this place.More

My wife and I had a very good meal here, I had the seafood platter and my wife the grilled sole. Service was excellent and the food was cooked and presented well. I wanted a decent seafood platter here in Spain and this place delivered....RecommendMore

We had only a small diner with gambas pil-pil, tortilla, tuna salad and fritted calamares. It was well prepared, but no Highlight. The prices are ok.

Stopped here for a meal with my son. It looked like a nice place. We were served quickly, that’s how they managed 1 star. My son ordered burger and fries. The burger was inedible and we couldn’t work out what meat it was. He just...ate the chips. I had chicken croquettes which were like rocks with a pretty grim grey mush in the middle, and Spanish tortilla which had raw runny egg in the middle. I forced down what I could but my stomach didn’t thank me for it over the next two days. Obviously I can’t prove it was due to this meal but I’m fairly sure of it. Maybe I should have complained (although reading some of the reviews, it probably wouldn’t have made a difference) but I didn’t. I just paid up and put it down as a bad experience. For the rest of our holiday I checked trip advisors reviews before eating anywhere...lesson learnt.More
