We have eaten here more than a few times and the food and service is always excellent. We shared a starter of chicken liver pate with tomato and onion jam, then my husband had the crispy chicken on a bed of Thai symtyke red cabbage...slaw with chilli mayonnaise. I chose the slow roasted leg of lamb with potato, pumpkin and mustard mash, roasted asparagus, mint jelly and red currant jus. Sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and cream, and a simple vanilla ice cream with strawberries and hot toffee sauce finished off a wonderful meal. Delightful friendly staff, and views to die for! 5 stars!More

Our visit here was to celebrate my 50th birthday. A beautiful restaurant located on a hillside offering superb higher views of the coastline where you can eat ‘al fresco’. The food was very reasonably priced and exquisite is not an understatement. Each plate that arrived...was delivered dressed beautifully and elegantly and cooked to absolute perfection. The staff were so friendly, attentive and we were made to feel very welcome. 5*****sMore

We had a birthday lunch here. Fantastic meal! Excellent service by friendly staff. We both had the pate to start which was beautifully presented. My husband had beer battered cod with hand cut chips for main, and I had fillet steak strips with portobello mushrooms...and crispy new potatoes in a brandy sauce. For dessert, we chose baby merengues and vanilla ice cream with home made hot salted caramel sauce. A wonderful eating experience!More

What a little gem. We were blessed to be staying here in the first week of the ‘new normal’. We knew that the food would be excellent as we’d had breakfast each morning and it was the best hotel breakfast I’d ever eaten. Kevin is...a very talented chef (as well as a very nice man when you have a chat with him). Alix is excellent as the hostess with the mostest and makes everyone feel very welcome. What a perfect setting. The terrace has magnificent mountain and sea views. The service offered by the whole team was very efficient (David is a very kind and intuitive gent, who knew just when to visit our table) - and although they have to now adhere to strict measures health and safety-wise, this was all done in the most professionals and discreet manner) the set menu was delicious and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who wants to be spoilt.More

We have just enjoyed the most incredible 60th birthday weekend at the Avalon in Nerja. This boutique hotel and fabulous restaurant is a firm favourite with us and it never fails to impress the friends we recommend it to. Alix, Kevin and their team really...pulled out the stops this time though to create a wonderful venue for our 60th birthdays despite all the restrictions of the phase 2 Covid lockdown. They worked tirelessly with our daughter to provide a surprise evening for us complete with our favourite singer and an amazing Covid loo roll cake! We have enjoyed superb food and wine as always, a relaxing room with sea views and throughout our stay we have felt safe and cared for in these very strange times. If, like us, your special celebration plans have been railroaded by Covid 19 we can highly recommend a visit to the Avalon in Nerja. Thank you so much Avalon and we look forward to returning very soon. Wendy and MikeMore

Avalon is 2.5kms from Balcon de Europa. You can walk along Playazo beach! It's a very lovely walk. Otherwise you can catch either the blue town bus to Punta Lara or the Malaga bus. It will cost 1€. A taxi will be 7€....
