After sanitising our hands and waiting to be seated. We were served by a lovely Durham Lass called Katrina who took our order. My wife ordered the small fish and chips special and I ordered large cod and mushy peas. We also asked for 2...mugs of tea with the meal and a glass of water. I think the fryer is called Sarah and what a great job she did. My fish was hanging off the plate and fried to perfection, I cannot think of one thing that could be improved. The batter was just right, the cod perfect and the mushy peas the best Ive tasted in years. My wife and I never spoke a word during the feast we just plowed ahead savouring every mouthful. The small fish was more than enough for her, the pile of chips and mushy peas that came as the special was a real gut burstaa. I have tried Fish and chips all over Britain and I can I think call myself an expert. These are some of the best fish and chips Ive tasted anywhere and without doubt the best outside of Britain. I would just like to thank Katrina and her sister in arms Sarah for 2 lovely meals. Thanks Lasses.More
This is not the first time I have visited the Crispy Cod but probably my last. The average price of potatoes is €1.15 per pound. And the Crispy Cod charge €3.20 for a large portion of chips. The price is one issue, the size of...the portion is questionable and the quality is another. For the price they are charging I expect fresh. However, as has been the case on a number of occasions now, older chips are ‘reheated’ and added to the fresh. This is not only unpleasant but a rip off. Half of my chips had to be thrown away!!!More
