I dropped in to the Whitehorses in Ardmore on a Wednesday evening recently for a meal. It certainly is a very busy place which probably is not surprising given the apparent limited range of restaurants in the popular seaside resort. My abiding memory is that the restaurant is very busy and this seemed to set the agenda as everything happened... More

This is an extremely busy restaurant, and I can fully understand why. The food is outstanding, we will be back.

Excellent restaurant in the heart of the beautiful village of Ardmore in Waterford. The food was beautiful and the staff most helpful. The desserts were to die for.

We booked a table for two following recommendations from locals about this restaurant, we were not disappointed, the food was delicious and service albeit a bit slow was excellent.

The best seafood chowder I've ever tasted. The steak was really big and was nicely served also. Bit pricey I thought but it was good food.

Ardmore, Co. Waterford claims not one, but two very good restaurants. The Cliff House Hotel and the White Houses. As a bit of a world traveller with more than my fair share of platinum loyalty points, I've eaten in some pretty pricey places but I wouldn't expect to pay Ritz Carlton Resort prices in Ardmore.. Yes it's a picturesque location... More

We didn't even get to sit down to experience this restaurants so called fine dining as we were told there was no tables available when there was clearly two free tables. All because we had our two year old son with us. The look on the managers face said it all as she looked at our son in his buggy... More

Very hard to get the attention of the staff to ask for anything. Food disappointing. Customer service absolutely appalling. I know they have no competition but that is really no excuse.

We had lunch on Monday. Restaurant was full and tables were turned over several times. The menu is varied with plenty of choice with one special on the menu daily at €13.50. We had two plates of beautiful home made brown bread and butter while waiting for our main course. We had roast beef, salmon and a pasta dish served... More

Stopped with friends for dessert and coffee after lunch . After what looked like a busy day, the staff looked stressed, tired and unwelcoming. The good thing is that the desserts displayed on the counter and in the glass shelves won over the awkward atmosphere. I had the lightest ever gluten and dairy free, blueberry, cherry and coconut cake (... More
