We had a lovely family meal here for our wedding anniversary with our 3 children (8,9&12). We've been a few times and it's my favourite place to eat. The pizza oven was broken but we made do. Lovely craft beers, big portions and yummy desserts. We will definitely be back again and again. Great kids menu

Wow! This place was a little island of gastronomic excellence in an unexpected place. The fish and chips was fresh and delicate with what I think were handcut fries. But it was the pizzas which were creative and fun. This place was very much a local family place which just shoots for the creative stars. And hits them. this was... More

This bright and airy restaurant was a joy to walk into. It's was very busy on the Friday night we are here, however their pizza oven was out of order which limited the menu. I had the Italian chicken which was very tasty although the accompanying garlic potatoes were stone cold. My friend all enjoyed their mains very much, the... More

From the welcome by the very cold staff I was told the pizza oven was not working. Then I asked for a jack Daniels to be told they had none. For starters I asked for dough balls- none----- for main course I wanted sweet potatoe fries--- none--- even though all was on menu. All of our three starters were Luke... More

Went with my wife upon our arrival in Ireland. We were a bit worried because it was late and we were hungry, until a friend recommended us this place. Oh, Wow! The atmosphere is wonderful… The service is 5,000 star and the price is reasonable. I ordered beef strips in mushroom sauce and my wife ordered lamb. Delicious, the staff,... More

The poets rest has lovely staff and great food - a real hidden gem in the village of Slane! I love that you can see into the kitchen. Plus the décor and atmosphere are amazing.

A lovely little restaurant. The décor is stylish and yet cosy and unpretentious. There's a good varied menu with plenty to choose from. The staff are friendly and accommodating even when you don't have a reservation. The food is delicious and well-presented. Definitely one to try if you're passing through Slane.

Nice staff, nice modern decor, menu had a lot of variety. I would have given a better rating if the dessert wasn't disappointing. Stodgy, very dense cheesecake whose base left an after taste in your mouth. My only other criticism is my mother's burger sat under a heat lamp for over five minutes while everyone else's pizza was still in... More

We stumbled across this gem while visiting Slane over the Easter weekend. It was actually recommended by the Hotel we were visiting. We were not disappointed. Good atmosphere, excellent food and prompt service.
