I picked the restaurant for a Sunday lunch, while being in Carlingford. The restaurant was open at 11:30 (while many others were closed, or not opening until evening hours). The fireplace was on, creating a very cozy and warm ambience. We ordered Prawns Pil Pil that tasted gorgeous and fresh. For main course, we ordered a Baked Cod, and a... More

Warm atmosphere, lovely people, good food, cozy firplace and a long history. YOu must go here nothing has changed well they expanded since last visit 10 years ago. Now if there is one thing you must do it is have the Carlingford Oysters. The food was very sophisticated, I wish I ordered the crab claws I grabbed one off my... More

Delighted to see they haven't changed the entrance and the small bar. Seafood chowder with puff pastry topping was very tasty. Lots of fish. Smallish bowl though. Great brown bread. Meals here are a bit expensive but the customers were enjoying them. Friendly, helpful staff. Good atmosphere and really nice creamy pint.

Food was beautiful if slightly on the expensive side. We went on a Monday evening and was busy, obviously a very popular spot!

I went here with friends over the weekend for lunch and drinks. Food was really overpriced but decent enough. Cocktails were a joke, €9 and they came in a plastic glass. We decided to stay on for a few drinks but as the pub got busier with hens and stags we got the feeling they wanted us to move on... More

There is an off-licence inside, in case, like my fiance, you can't drink on the spot due to driving back to the B&B. Little bit more expensive than a normal shop, but at least offer more option than wine.

Great pub grub, seafood chowder is Devine! Staff are friendly and quick to serve. Live bands and a disco makes for a perfect night out in Carlingford.

We visited PJ O'Hares while touring the north east. It looked good from the outside and on entering the pub, it was quite amazing how the inside was spread out into different parts. The restaurant was busy, so we had to eat in the bar. We were directed to a table very fast and our orders taken straight away. There... More
