The food here is incredible. I had the seafood chowder and it was the best I have ever eaten, there was so much fish and shellfish in it that it was like eating a super fish pie. Truly a meal in itself. I also had...More

Popped in for a quick bite to eat on a day out touring with friends. All of us just had either the soup or the Sea Food Chowder with local bread. Big chunks of fish and muscles in the chowder. Perfect.

We were looking for food in Tully Cross but both Coynes and the anglers were not serving. So we headed to letterfrack and found Veldons which didn’t look much more than basic pub food. How wrong were we. The service was friendly - the presentation...More

My sister had their stew and I had their fish and chips. Both portions were large and served hot. Service was mediocre. I guess our expectations were too high based upon travel guides. Meals were average and the service was below average. We've probably become...More

Sorry to hear that your experience with us was not up to the standard you expected. As you noted we get great reviews on our food & also about our staff so it must have been an off day

We ate here on Thursday evening while on holidays in the area. We were a bit wary as we were not impressed on our last visit a few years ago. There was no need to be worried though as the food was absolutely delicious. We...More

We, family of four, had lunch today after hiking to Diamond hill. If you like greasy deep fried food and dishes soaked in cream you may enjoy this place. We did not. We had the worst sea chowder ever in Ireland. Cesar salad was not...More

Thank your your review and sorry to hear you didn't enjoy our food. As you can see many people enjoy our food and some have even stated that our chowder is the best they have had in Ireland.

We got a flat tire down the road and hoofed it up to the Seafarer. None of us had working phones, the young man at the bar (owner's son I believe) was kind enough to let us use his to contact rental car company, and...More

Another visit and everything was as good as our previous visits the year before. The staff, food, atmosphere and restaurant are all still as good. The only negative was the outside seating area, which could do with a little more attention, especially at the start...More

Description
Veldons Seafarer Bar and Restaurant is located in Letterfrack village at one of the main crossroads in Connemara – the heart of Connemara! We are located along the Wild Atlantic Way where the landscape is shaped by the sea and the local characters are full of creativity and chat. The bar has been a hub of activity for many years with Veldons Bar also being main grocers in the area. The old shop is now our great new restaurant. We aim to offer a friendly welcoming atmosphere where locals and visitors can enjoy a visit. Great food is served all day in the bar and we also have a separate restaurant. We are perfectly located for a quick coffee and sandwich before you carry on with your journey, a hearty steak after you have conquered Diamond Hill, or make a weekend of it and enjoy the ambiance of our restaurant followed by a pint in the bar! There is always a smiling face and a warm welcome in Veldons Seafarer.
