What I love most is the atmosphere of the place. It's rustic and the staffs are really friendly and accommodating. They also let us into the cowshed to pet some cows and watch how milking is done. Soon after, they let us taste the fresh milk. Price is a bit expensive (common in Iceland) but the portion is big. Food... More

Caveat: We didn't eat or stay long here, but.... We stopped here briefly after several treacherous hours of driving in dangerously icy conditions and the staff members here were super kind and helpful in assisting us to find out about the road conditions ahead and provided much needed assurance that we could continue safely ahead. While I didn't sample any... More

Extraordinary food, atmosphere and wait staff. A try gen! Try the lamb shank - it is amazing!! A must do! They will serve fresh milk samples- outstanding! A purely organic experience without trying. Locally supported farmers which is outstanding!

This was one of my favorite places in Iceland. We stayed here after visiting the Myvatn nature baths. If you decide to stay here make sure you mention it to the baths and you can get 10%off. The room was small but worth it and we got free breakfast in the morning. This truly is a perfect spot for northern... More

If not part of the cowshed I'd have rated this Above Average, but the cowshed experience tipped the scales. I had the slow roasted lamb, potato cake and small salad. My wife had the hamburger with baked potato. The burger was thick but red inside. We sent it back but it was still a little pink upon return. The service... More

The food and service were excellent in every respect. Great ambience - with the cows in stalls behind glass next to the restaurant as a unique feature. Food not cheap (is it ever in Iceland?!) but of really great simplicity and quality - literally straight from the farm! Simple food but extremely well done - lovely!

We had lunch here and the food was very good. We ordered a burger and the lamb. Both so tasty! The views are amazone and it is fun to see the cows. It is very expensive but you will enjoy the food and scenery for sure.

Stayed at the Gueshouse but also ate dinner here. Fantastic burger! Love that you can see the cows while you eat. Waiter came by with fresh cow milk while I was there at a milking time. I of course had to try some...and it was good! Had more with breakfast the next morning.

You know what they say? Seize every opportunity and 'milk' it for all its worth! Okay, okay enough with the cow jokes. But I cannot be 'cow'ardly with this review. Okay seriously I'll stop. This restaurant was not what one expects when the host of the rather budget guest house your staying in recommends the 'cow-shed' down the road for... More

I had to convince my wife to go there, o boy, we were surprised! This place is so nice, with a view in to the cowshed, relaxed athmospere and nice staff. I have to mention the beer, Kaldi from the draft was unbelievably good. Everybody in the group were happy with their food, burgers, local bread, char, "hangikjöt", cake, homemade... More
