Staff here were really friendly towards us. This is a traditional restaurant- nothing fancy just simple, tasty food, cooked well. The tarte tatin was gorgeous, as was the chocolate macaroon. The entrecote steak was also good. Definitely value for money- 3 courses for 3 people plus bottle of wine, water and a soft drink just over 70 euros. Knowledge of... More

Wine €5 per 50cl. Red and white. My €18 set meal got me 4 bar b cue prawns / a thin steak with greens and chips/ cheeses/ and and excellent 3 ice cream dish. Very good The €12 was herring/pork with rice greens/ choc mousse. OK Bread and butter included. Carafe off water. Service ok. Hard to beat that

This was our second visit to Le Donjon and the service and quality of the food was great on both occasions. On this visit my husband had snails followed by kidneys which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had eggs mayonnaise followed by steak. We had a pitcher of the house rose and one of red. Both were enjoyable and incredibly cheap... More

Came for evening meal after reading reviews here. Not at all disappointed, in fact my carnivore gourmand of a husband declared it to be the best meal he's had so far in France! I found the service rather too slow, but after several visits over many years we're coming to understand that this is just the French norm. 2adults had... More

The first thing that drew us to le Donjon was that it was absolutely rammed with local diners. The second thing was the extensive choice and value offered by the two set menus. I chose from the 17 Euro version and had a delicious prawn skewer starter followed by fresh grilled fish with green beans. My husband went for the... More

We have 3 children ages 4,6 and 8. We wanted to eat out in a French restaurant and find a child friendly place where we felt comfortable. The food was great, good value and the kids loved it. Lots of French people eating there so a good sign.
