Try the Fried Pies!

Well, it looks like it’s been a while since anybody has posted on here so I guess I’ll do it. Great service happy nice friendly people huge portions of food huge! You should come check them out, but I would suggest come in early when we got there. They were out of brisket because there was like an order for 8000 leaving there, but they still got what we wanted. So don’t be a champ. Come visit and get some really good meat in your mouth.

These guys got the Meats!

This is my second trip back to JJ‘s, work brought me back to El Dorado and I came back because the food was so good the first time. Did I know that I would time my visit on1 1/4 inch Prime Rib Night! Bonus! As you can see from the picture, it was amazing and you gotta have their desserts. Their strawberry cake is amazing! So go already !

Dry brisket

Great people and service. Brisket very dry and flavorless. Okra not fully cooked. Vancamp beans fresh out of the can. BBQ sauce not BBQ sauce. Stomachache shortly after

Bait and switch.

First visit was good. Today I got yesterdays BBQ ribs and rib tips. I wondered why my rib tips were almost ground up. Last time they were juicy chunks. Well I figured it out. Each piece was cut into tiny pieces. No bones. I guess this is how they make them tender when they are a day old. The ribs were dry and obviously yesterdays. What a let down. And all at full price. What an insult. Don’t go here unless you open your container right there. I’m done. They lost my business. And I drove in from Lake Claiborne. Quite a distance. Do not go here. Honesty is not in their business plan. I wasn’t given the option of buying day old food at half price. But old food at full price.

Lousy service and food.

We ordered to medium ribeye and they brought out to well done steaks. We ask for two new ones and then they brought us rare steaks. So we just at our sides and left.

Good food…friendly folks. They do bbq the old school way…really delicious. And I’m told…tge ribeyes are spot on, as well. BUTTTT…bring back the fresh fried pork skins!

Great place for lunch!

This is the best barbeque in El Dorado and is a great local place to grab lunch. The meat tastes fresh and quality. The sauce is good as well.

Substandard and Bad Service

Went there ONE time and that is the last time.!! I walked up to the counter where cash register is and tried to talk to a man, the owner, he immediately discounted me and walked away. I ordered the food, EXPENSIVE, and took home to eat. I was SUBSTANDARD. I will NEVER eat there again. Don't wast your money.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We ordered take out during a business trip and the experience was excellent! The food was delicious, hot, and plenty of condiments to go. The fried pickles and chips are EXCELLENT!! If in El Dorado, STOP IN HERE!! Thank you JJ’s!

I have eaten here now three times in the short time I've been here and coming from Texas I can tell you JJ's BBQ is Off the Chain!! Small place but food cooked to order so if full go on in, order and wait for a seat... you will not regret it!

Smoke fills the parking lot and street surrounding this ramshackle joint on Main Street, giving JJ’s an authentic guarantee. Inside it’s packed with gewgaws and people. The food itself, the actual draw, is rather dry and cool to the touch. Best bites: coleslaw and the spicy bbq sauce, worst bites the brisket and smoked pork.

As good as it gets!!

How lucky was I? Stopped at JJ’s during travel thru town. Whimsical place with genuine people and atmosphere. Barbecue was spot on, perfectly smoked and the spicy sauce excellent. Sides were also delicious. Their home made fresh potato chips, were outstanding!!

Went for the catfish

This is a little bitty hole in the wall place. You order at the counter, make your own drink, and find a seat. They do charge a surcharge using a credit card. The food was really good. The fish was excellent. It's on my list of places to try again!
