Still great BBQ

This is probably my favorite BBQ place in Arkansas and has been most of my life. On a recent trip to Arkansas, my family went here and had lunch as well as picked up a case of their BBQ sauce. I had a beef sandwich. The sandwich tasted just as good as ever, if perhaps not quite as much meat as I remembered from growing up but just as tasty. One of my sons had a rib sandwich and my wife and other son shared a rib dinner and all loved it. It is no frills, no customer bathroom and you must pay cash. Very friendly workers. I highly recommend!

Maybe the best BBQ in AR

A friend told me about this place and said I had to stop if I was ever in the area. Glad I listened! Went for lunch, simple. Pork sandwiches, chips and drinks. Fantastic! If I lived closer I would eat here frequently. I'll be back.

I grew up in the area eating this regularly. When I get a chance to go back I stock up on everything,sandwiches, sauce and the best coleslaw anywhere. I got back there a few weeks ago and it was as good as ever. Best bbq in the state to me and I have tried a lot of places.

I really can’t believe how many good reviews are out there for this place. A friend from the area said that it used to be a lot better so maybe the good reviews are based on nostalgia? The bbq pork tasted like it was made in a crock-pot (zero smoked flavor) and was so vinegary it was almost inedible. First time I’ve ever thrown out bbq. Beans were ok.

Been coming to Craig’s my whole life 51 years mom grew up in Brinkley so this is a staple in my life best bbq in world I was military spouse and have tried lots of bbq NOTHING COMPARES Craig’s is the BEST hands down!!!!!

Excellent BBQ!!! Don’t let the building fool you into not stopping, friendly and if you like authentic southern BBQ this should be on your list. The coleslaw may be the best we’ve ever eaten.

Still the best bar-b-que around!

I haven't lived in Arkansas since the early 90's, but I still don't miss an opportunity to drive to De Valls Bluff when I'm home to have Craig's Bar-B-Que. And, I ALWAYS stock up on Craig's Bar-B-Que sauce to bring back with me!

I grew up here. This is the BBQ I grew up with, so like most things, what you grow up with sets the standard for everything else that follows. There’s never been another BBQ come close IMO. The slaw is the best too. Every time we’re in town we stop for BBQs, multiple times/every meal as you don’t know what you got until it’s missing. Call it in as the number is memorized. Pairs perfectly with plain Lay’s chips. We were heading into town today and had an out of state car pull out behind us from the interstate and they followed us all the way to Craig’s. If you’re traveling on I-40, it’s worth the detour.

As Barbecue goes, Craig’s is considered one of the top barbecue joints in Arkansas. If you happen to be in DeValls Bluff or even if you’re not, it’s as good of BBQ as you can get. We were in town for a funeral and stopped by for lunch. We called it in, because that’s pretty much standard protocol around here. Our food was hot and ready when we walked in the door. Dressed with some good ole sweet tea, we stuffed ourselves with sliced pork sandwiches and the fixins. Like most good BBQ joints, it’s unpretentious and stuck in time. A few tables are available and if you’re lucky, one can be yours!

Like so many really good BBQ joints, Craig’s is very unpretentious! There’s not even an order counter, you just walk in and find a seat or stand in line to pick up your order. We had a sliced pork sandwich and a sliced beef sandwich and chips, Perfection! Their sauce is more vinegar than the sweet molasses kind. The Arkansas Food Award on the wall and the number of locals picking up huge to-go orders speaks to the deserved popularity of Craig’s. Do remember to take cash (not expensive...about $15 for two sandwiches, chips and a drink) but cash or local check only. If you go around lunch, expect the parking lot to be full and cars parked on side of highway....definitely the busiest place in this little town.

My favorite!

I grew up close to this place and would frequent it with my dad back when they had the same wallpaper, same Pepsi menu and a cigarette vending machine in the corner! We only make it here about George a year and love it every single time. Huge sandwiches. Best sliced pork I have ever had. I even love the slaw here which I don’t usually get anywhere else. It’s love!

Eating there since I was a kid

If you are looking for a run down shack with pretty iffy service that serves some of the best BBQ around with THE BEST COLESLAW this is your place !! The first time I took my daughter , she was probably 20 years old . When she saw the building she didn’t want to go in . When she got inside she wanted to leave . When she bit into a pork sandwich the whole place became beautiful !

DON'T WAIT THIRTY YEARS

Let's start off with this. Craig's has been in business for over 70 years. Did you know Craig's BBQ has a James Beard Award? If you are coming for a fine dining experience, you are in the wrong building. If you are here for fine BBQ experience, you've come to the right place. It's off the main but its well worth the drive. I have been going to Craig's since I was a little boy and I have always been very happy with them. I still have some Price family relatives that live in Devalls Bluff. To be honest, I have never ordered anything but their pork BBQ sandwich. I have no idea what any of their other menu items taste like. My wife and I were headed to Little Rock from our vacation home in Crossville TN. We had to stop... It's the law. It has been a long time since I had a their famous sandwiches. The building seems to get smaller and smaller every time I visit but this is just an illusion... Its the same size. The building is very unpresumptuous and still looks the same inside as it did 30 years ago, except the pass thru is closed and the menu is moved. If you need to use the bathroom (clean), go back outside and around the back of the building thru the screen door. It's always been that way, if you got go, go around. Order the pork sandwich, It has a unique spice always topped with coleslaw. The wait help has always been very friendly, I really can't wait to go again. It will be the best pork sandwich you ever had. I'll tell you what I don't like... They don't have anything like Craig's in Florida.
