The ambiance is unique and historic, appropriate for a Fred Harvey trainstop next to Hopi/Navajo. The locally-sourced food was expertly prepared, with a south-of-the-border flair. Quality, knowledgeable service. Certainly worth making an extra effort to visit. A "once-in-a-lifetime" experience, although hopefully not? Game. Outsidanding lemon...dessert. Thoughtful wine selection.More

The Turquoise Room is at La Posada Inn, a beautiful historic hotel. We stopped for lunch at the Turquoise Room—outstanding! I had the beef tacos and my wife had the Cobb salad. Everything was perfect! And such a beautiful setting.

WE had both dinner and breakfast here. The majority of the entrees have a Mexican flavor so be prepared for some spiciness. It is not inexpensive so be prepared. Also they recommend reservations for dinner although when we were there it was not that crowded.

Our forth visit to this restaurant. Even during the worst of Covid- it was always excellent. This visit was no different. Finally hit the right timing to have their squash blossom appetizer. Love. The Venison Medallions were tasty as well as their salads. Looking forward...to another future dinner.More

First off we had Forrest as a waiter and he was excellent!! He made the experience more fun. The food quality has declined and it seems the menu has downgraded a bit since I was there last in 2014. But we had a great time...and I would go back.More

We ate six meals here - 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and one dinner. We enjoyed lunch and breakfast very much - good portions and an attentive staff. My husband did have their famous corn cream and black bean soup for lunch. He was not impressed....He thought the corn tasted like canned creamed corn. The black bean soup was okay. We were less pleased with our dinner. The area of the restaurant we were seated in (west end) was dark and it was hard to read the menu. My husband and I started our dinner with salads - the Southwest Caesar and the Blue Cheese Salad. The SW Caesar was presented nicely, but the Blue Cheese Salad looked like it had been thrown together and some of the Romaine lettuce stems were brown. We were not given salad forks for the salads. For his entree my husband had the Shrimp Pasta. It was a very nice dinner portion and he liked it very much. I had the Steelhead Trout. The portion was smaller than I expected (especially for $40), the fingerling potatoes looked to be thrown on the plate, and the vegetables were overcooked. For desert we split a Peach Cobbler. We were each given a teaspoon to eat with - soup spoons would have been better. It was a bit soupy and hard to share across the table. It would have been nice to each get a plate or bowl so that we could split it. We definitely would have breakfast and lunch here again, but would skip dinner.More

Don’t count on this being open, we called and they said they “should be open”. Check before expecting lunch and be sure to call ahead - we are opting to go elsewhere.

This place is probably a $$$$ and we are more like a $$. However we were staying at the hotel and the room looked so inviting and we were hungry and we do eat fancy occasionally , so why not. You can't bottle that ambience,...but its either there or its not. Here it was everywhere. From our squash blossom appetizer, to our wonderful salad, we went forward into what my wife called the best pork chop she had ever eaten. Everything on my plate was superb and then we topped it off with a peach cobbler that has to be ordered some time in advance. The common every day meals are soon forgotten, but the memory of this one will last for a long, long, time.More

We went in for lunch, wasn't very busy so got seated right away. Ordered the Fred Harvey beef sancwich which was fab, extremely tasty. Even the lemonade and prickly pear lemonade were lovely, best lemonade I've had. But the one thing that sealed the deal...was the corn bread in honey you get served as a little appetiser - I could have eaten a whole plateful of that! It's a lovely setting, attentive service, great food and reasonable price (only dropping it to a 4 star as the waitress was a tad moody even though she was good!).More

We made a special stop on our road trip trip based on excellent reviews. Well worth the stop. We are foodies and home cooks, with a chef son...very picky. Vanessa took great care of us and made excellent suggestions. She recommended the squash blossom appetizer....WOW. Really good. The fried calamari had some spice and just the right crunch. We loved it! We had the spice amped up on the shrimp tagliatelle and it was amazing. It had lots of perfectly cooked fresh veggies as well. The venison was the weak link. Just OK. Vanessa recommended the peach cobbler which was also a big hit. We will definitely stop again when passing through. Don’t miss it!More

Okay, I’ll be brutally honest here, I cannot believe how good the food is at this restaurant. Our good friends and my wife took me away for my birthday and didn’t let on where we were going. Upon arriving at the La Posada Hotel I...was beginning to see something special was about to happen this weekend. I’ve already reviewed the amazing hotel but I wasn’t ready for what was about to unfold during dinner. Our server was excellent and when they showed me both the menu and wine list things really started to get interesting. We started with beautifully prepared cocktails and Crispy Fried Calamari and Bison & Elk meatballs for starters. My wife tried the Shaft’s aged Blue Vein Wisconsin cheese salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. For mains we all tried something different, the Bison Short Ribs were very good, the Venison Medallions were excellent as was the Grilled Chicken Breast with Tomatillo sauce (my wife actually asked for the recipe) the last dish was the Churro Lamb Sampler, Our friend was absolutely taken by this dish, the presentation was excellent and by all accounts very tasty too. We found the wine list was very good and found a few nice bottles of Faust to help wash down the excellent food. We also took advantage of having breakfast the next morning in the same restaurant, same great service and food offerings. We’re all looking forward to our next visit to Winslow, to La Posada Hotel and the Turquoise Room.More

We were lucky enough to get a last-minute dinner reservation here, and I’m glad we did. First of all, I was relieved that dress here seemed to be casual, in spite of the beautiful and historic room. The food was delicious and different; try the...Killer Vegetable Platter, which included an empanada, chile relleno and tamale among other items, all wonderful. Entrees each have a suggested wine pairing by the glass, which was very helpful. Finally, if you’re traveling with a furry friend, you can sit with your dog at a table in the lobby just outside the restaurant, and experience the same wonderful food as inside.More

Great place for dinner or breakfast. Interesting options, always a bit out of the ordinary, and always excellent. Not cheap, but worth it. MUST make reservations for dinner - even if you're staying here; limited seating. The Martini Bar is being expanded (and looks like...it will be great), but for now they have VERY, VERY limited "bar" seating and they will not let you sit in the dining room or take your drink out to the lobby. Most irritating and inconvenient. But the drinks are first class (but not cheap). And their wine menu (by the glass or bottle) is quite good. Love this place. It's the biggest reason we stay over whenever we come to Winslow.More
