This place is very she she and very well decorated. We were surprised at how stunning it is inside. They are from Nogalas and have a place there also. The menu is nice and offer an hola shot for 50 cents. One only per person. The food is very light and not a ton of sauces, like other mexican food... More

The molcajete de carne was SO good. Beef strips were marinated and simmered in a green chile sauce. Beans were the type my mother used to make. Wait staff was courteous, helpful. Enjoyed the experience very much..

Had a family dinner at Elvira's in Tubac...Very unique upscale mexican restaurant with an interesting decor throughout. Service was OK and everyone with their meals seemed pleased except me. I ordered the chicken mole which was extremely heavy in dark chocolate I realize the chocolate factor of the dish but the bitterness was over bearing. Pretty expensive !!!

To begin, our dinners at Elvira's were outstanding, the best in Tubac and probably in many other towns. The salsa that came with a bowl of chips was very tasty. We had the flounder over pineapple with rice and the spicy shrimp with rosemary (a great combo) and rice and refried beans. Truly delicious. A bit pricey but really, absolutely... More

We had a delicious lunch. Outstanding chips and salsa. The chicken mole and the chicken quesadilla with guacamole were great.

the menu is very unique--not typical Mexican--we love the food and the service is always excellent-you can count on seeing the same server over and over again, which in Tubac is very unusual--if you are not careful a couple can spent $100 on lunch, which is over the top--the price of their margaritas is also extremely high if you order... Very cool restaurant in a toney town. Had Mexican food & salads for lunch. Very tasty. Attentive service. The lunch sized servings are plenty big enough and less expensive. A great tradition of the house is offering a $.50 shot of tequila for each entree ordered. Full-sized shot too. Interesting decor. Comfortable seating. Bathrooms are dark and basic. Cute gift... You know that scene...in Harry Met Sally....Sosa style will take you there. Sister had Sosa style shrimp. I had the steak. Both you can cut with a fork. It has this weird brown green sauce on it and hot cheese under the bottom. I'm weird about sauce. It's awesome. Don't be scared at all. Chilean Sea Bass is excellent. Our... More

This sit down restaurant was beautifully decorated. There is a shop attached where the decor items may be purchased. The service was excellent. Staff were professional and have clearly been serving for years. Drinks were perfectly mixed. The food was excellent. It is a wonderful surprise when chefs actually create food from creativity and not just to conform for a... More

Foods fantastic! Best filet we've ever had, and we like steak. Don't come here looking for tacos, nachos or burritos. Elvira's is more upscale, with a Mexico city flavor. From chicken Moles, Chilean sea bass and shrimp to Sosa style filet they are all great. On our most recent visit the cook lost or ticket and before we had time... More
