Lunch was to be a special event. Elvira's staff was great and the décor was really fun. The food was less than impressive. Hubby ordered Chile Relleno and the plate came swimming in sauce and cheese which stretched around the room and back -- difficult to eat plus the Chile was tough to cut. Beans and rice were barely warm.... More

We have eaten in some great restaurants all over the world, and Elvira's is comparable in every way! The decor is a feast for the eyes...whimsical, romantic, and eclectic. The food is absolutely delicious...savory, tender, fresh, and authentic. A visit includes high quality service, an awesome wine list and all at a really good price. Awesome guitar and vocal harmonies... More

This is a phenomenal restaurant with an excellent menu. Don't miss out on their outstanding margaritas! While a bit pricey, they are absolutely delicious. I had the grass fed Harris Ranch filet. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender!

I was really surprised, the restaurant is quite unusual, and yet beautiful. The food was good. I had the flank steak, it is served in an unusual way, and looks like a green volcano in a very hot and bubbling stone bowl, but it tastes good. The bartender was my waitress, she was very nice, and funny.

Set in small town Tubac, this fine dinning is amazingly decorated into a magical space. You'll feel in another worlds as soon as you step into the restaurant. Food was gourmet southwestern with plenty of choices and southwestern sauces. If you're eating dinner in Tubac, this is surely the the ultimate dinning experience there. We had a great meal with... Let me start by better defining the 3 rating. The food deserves a 4+ but the service gets a 2. My wife and I were visiting Tucson and—after having a disappointing lunch experience at Elvira's downtown location—were hoping for a better one in Tubac. We drove 90 minutes south with my wife's sister and our brother-in-law, and met her aunt... More

Visited Elvira's (one of my wife's favorite restaurants), recently to celebrate her Birthday, with friends! Introduced the couple with us to her favorite, Elvira's Tamarind Margarita (which as expected, was a hit, with them too)! Along with the outstanding Margarita's, the entree's were top notch. One really needs to try the Vegan, Chef's special Poblano Pepper Chile Relleno, with a... More

This restaurant is a gem my fiancé and I loved it the service was friendly and our server was very attentive. The inside is decorated in a whimsical Mexican folk art decor but the ceiling is the showstopper with all the colored glass. We orders the molcajete mango margaritas and potato and cheese tacos, which was plenty of food for... More

I took photos of the beautiful decor and forgot to photograph my food! I had Chile Poblano Frida Kahlo - a roasted poblano stuffed with squash blossoms, roasted corn, Menonita and Oaxaca cheeses, covered in red crema sauce. It was soooo delicious it just disappeared.
