It was two years ago on this date that we discovered for the first time, the recently opened Habanero’s in Tubac. What a terrific first meal we had there. In the two years since, a visit to Habanero’s is a must for us when in...Tubac. Their menu is extensive. Last Friday three of us had lunch there. Beginning with ice-cold Negra Modelo’s on tap, and their wonderful chips and salsa was a great start to our lunch. We all had the 3-taco combo, which was your choice of tacos with rice and beans. The photo show 2-carne asado tacos & 1-pork taco. We have always had great friendly service. The staff, including the cooks, were all masked.More

The 4 of us all enjoyed our meals. The salsa was very tasty although some reviewers said it was bland. We asked for the spicy salsa and the waiter brought us some which was very spicy but had flavor. We had to ask for more...water! I had the shrimp dish with poblano sauce which was delicious. Another had the Angus Burger which he loved. Mask wearing seemed to be sporadic. The host wore one when he seated us but didn't wear one when he came back with our waters. Our waiter wore a mask most of the time except for maybe one time. But for the most part, we felt safe. We ate outside and we were the only customers outside.More

The food was excellent, especially the lamb shank and enchiladas mole. Chips and salsa were very good. The Cadillac Tamarind marguerites were wonderful, at least until we found that they were $13 each when we received the bill. Service was attentive and friendly. The problem...was that our waiter didn't wear a mask for almost our entire stay. Miguel greeted us with a mask on, then took it off for the remainder of our visit. Tables were well spaced, although there was only one other table occupied inside. Current regulations require waiters to wear a mask and it is a necessary safety precaution when having relatively close contact with many people. Due to the no mask situation we won't be returning to Habanero's until after the pandemic. That's very unfortunate since we loved the food, drinks, etc. We were planning a group get together at the restaurant and our visit was for reconnaissance, but that is now off for Habanero's. This is really to bad since there were only four covers when we were there, so I'm sure they need the business and we really loved the food and drinks.More

Cook had mask on, but our waiter, who was within inches of me, did not wear a mask!!!!!! I've eaten Mexican food about 10,000 times in my life and have never, and I mean never, had "salsa" that was so tasteless and bland. I could...not believe it. Usually polish off chips and salsa, but didn't even finish chips. I can send them a recipe if they need one. Blah. Lovely Modelo Negro in a great frosty, frozen mug. Hit the spot. I was so happy to see that they had cochinita pibil (which is hard to find) and I had 3 "cp" tacos. These were so delicious that they made up for the "salsa." The flavor of the cp was out of this world. My friend ordered a side of guacamole and received slice avacados. Waiter came and she asked him if this was their guac and he said, oh no, they are still making the guac in the kitchen (we were first customers). So we wondered why they didn't say anything and give her a choice of having avocados or not??? That was not impressive. Asked if we wanted dessert, churros. I said yes if they are fresh out of the grease. Waiter said yes. I should have read the menu because it was like 1/3 cut pieces of churro, drizzled with chocolate and then served over vanilla ice cream. I just wanted a nice churro. That was $9.95, so I would pass on that again. My friends and I all shared it and we seemed to get a bit of a brandy flavor, but I didn't ask. So very mixed reviews. Service, communication, "salsa" would be 2 stars, but the cochinita pibil is 10. I would go back (and will), but will order beer and 3 cp tacos. Nothing else. I will sneak in my own salsa, LOL. Very pretty restaurant and it also has outside dining.More

Great food, great service. I had a nice mild hamburger while my husband had a Chimichangas (which was spicey) hot and great. Wonderful experience.

Best chile relleno bar none. Great chips, salsa and guac, fast humorous service. Busy day to visit but we were seated quickly, service was fast. As I said, best chile relleno ever! Highly recommended. Will go back on next trip to AZ.

Terrible service and bland food. In a town like this with nice people and friendly service workers, this place lacks both.

My experience to Habaneros was quite dissapointing we are a retired couple we went there with othercouple a few days ago the waitress seemed to be in another world with no exequates or good service manners she confused our order despite of all that she...never came back to check on us to end the story she mistreated us wasn't even polite she acted as if we were intruders she seemed angry and pouted her face the food was ok but very bad service I asked another waiter her name he said Denise she said she was owned by her it's the first time we've ever had that experience in tubac,More

I don't think so. Lunch was very good, as were the drinks (which were also reasonably priced). Excellent, friendly service.

Place was very clean. Everyone at my table enjoyed there food and drinks. My personal drink order and food order were messed up in my opinion due to lack of attentaviness of waitress to details. This place had or was sold out of guacomole which...I find disappointing for any Mexican restaurant. Had my personal experience been better I would give 4 stars based on everyone elses opinions in my party. I am sure if I went back and things were good on my end I would also offer 4 stars.More

I agree. Call them directly. It's the most efficient way to get to the solution. I'm sure they will be very accommodating; at least that's been my experience of their customer service.
