We went to Tortilla Flat on our honeymoon. It was a nice Saturday afternoon, so we ate outside in the patio, They had a great cowboy band and offered Cheeseburgers and hotdogs right off the grill. We had a couple of cold beers and enjoyed the music. Prices are moderate. You can eat inside year-round. The inside has saddles for bar stools and dollar bills hanging on the walls and ceiling. Western souvenirs and ice cream are sold, too. Half the fun is getting there, on a winding road past beautiful mountain and desert scenery and past Saguaro Lake.

This is the only place to eat in this very small town, so it's great that there was an extensive menu for all ranges of tastes and ages. The hamburger and fries were good; the Reuben was excellent and filling! They even had Kraft Macaroni and Cheese for the younger children who may be averse to food differences. The nachos were excellent on a large plate. The restrooms have cute paintings but the food is amazingly good.

We arrived a little after noon and there was an hour wait to be seated. I would suggest arriving around 11:00 am or after 2:00 pm to avoid the crowd. The food and service were very good and the waiter Charlie was efficient and very humorous. We will continue to take guests there in the future, but at a different time.

We ate at Tortilla Flats restaurant in late February with friends from the Mesa area. The drive up into the mountains is lovely. Tortilla Flats is the literal end of the road at this time (until road is repaired) and we were lucky to get there early enough to get a good parking spot and have a short wait. The place is VERY popular and when we left was wall to wall people with difficulty to find a parking spot. Our server was excellent. Good mexican food, plenty to look at including western kitsch and dollars everywhere. Ladies room is lots of fun with painted doors that turn everyone into bawdy girls. Gift shop next door, music on weekends.

I have lived in the Phoenix area for just over two years and just recently discovered the Apache trail and Tortilla Flats. After watching a recent episode of “Beyond Oak Island” researching the legend of the “Lost Dutchman Mine”, I decided to pay a visit to the Superstition Mountains. My Wife and I set out to take a Covid-friendly drive up the Apache trail and explore the area. Wow what a pleasant surprise! The mountains and surrounding landscapes are just stunning. The best part of the trip was Tortilla Flats, an old Pony Express stop that still has an operating restaurant and saloon. The food and service is excellent. We just took some friends with us today and they just raved about the entire experience. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating. This time of the year the outside patio typically has live music starting at 11:30am, fun. The inside has plenty of seating and the walls are covered with approximately $400K of signed dollar bills. Tip: try the chili with cornbread!

Great service, entertaining atmosphere, very good food, nice selection of menu items. Compared to experience when previously owned by others this was a step up with food preparation & presentation. The only drawback was price but understand all businesses are struggling with economic situation. However, based on location, Tortilla Flats has a captive audience. 2 of us split 1 meal yet lunch for 4 w/gratuity was $100.

Great atmosphere, server was awesome...however when ordering a burger asking for it to be well done they said they would ask but not guarantee it would come that way. Also said if it is busy they don't take special requests. How is wanting meat to be cooked a special request? I have never had a restaurant say they basically could serve it undercooked and that's what you get. Further more it was not even close to being busy. Food was mediocre at best.. Didn't order the burger, would have sent back if not cooked.

The drive out to Tortilla Flat is one picture postcard after another around each bend to the saloon. You walk in with band playing country music and old rock-n-roll, so saunter up to the bar for a cold beer and some great bbq. This place is a destination for the day with little museum, General Store, restaurant, and gift shop. Sit back enjoy your meal, listen to live music, and relish the beautiful landscape.

A very interesting place to visit. Tortilla Flats, the town, is interesting and the "saloon" has great food and a very interesting decor. The walls and ceiling are papered with genuine one dollar bills. Fascinating and ladies rest room should be visited! The town was packed and remember it is at the end of the road!

The brisket quesadilla is superb so the 4 stars and the staff was pleasant enough. Nice atmosphere. Music was not to loud but hearable. Good ingredients in the burrito but not very tasty BUT then the canned cheese sauce on top was terrible. Give me a choice or just put on some good salsa or red sauce and shredded cheese.

The drive to Tortilla Flats was the best part! We didn't realize the restaurant would be there, so it was a pleasant surprise. We found the atmosphere to be very fun with the dollars tacked up everywhere and the saddle bar stools, etc. The people next to us had ordered the flat tortilla appetizer and recommended it, so we had that. It was a unique almost pizza type of food. We enjoyed it and would order it again. This place is about the experience. We were also surprised at the crowd that was there. People drive out there specifically to eat there. There are little shops and silly photo opps. But again... the drive there is the real highlight!

Well worth the drive up on a gorgeous day. Enjoyed a nice family lunch. The Mucho Macho Nachos are excellent especially with the fresh jalapeños and grilled chicken. Large portion. The Dutchman burger was very good. The prickly pear bbq sauce tasted delicious. Burger was cooked perfectly. Outstanding service by Carlos! Definitely worth checking out.

Decided to enjoy lunch before the Dolly Steamboat ride, and it was perfect timing. We were looking forward to the chorizo fundito, although the canned cheese was a bit of a disappointment. The mesquite Reuben, however was DEE-LISH, as was the cheesesteak. Ryan, our server, was most helpful and speedy with service. So glad we stopped in!

we were totally ignored by bartender, he was rude, and enjoyed cussing in front of his customers. We moved to a table and he pounded on bar and just stared. No one should put up with this. WaItress was fine, food was good. Bathroom was a mess!

What a wonderful afternoon on the patio with live music ! The service was excellent by each and every individual serving food and drinks and also the lady at the door with the squirt gun. Friendly and went out of their way to make it a fun experience, especially for the kids. Highly recommend this patio if you have a happy demeanor and want to keep sharing it with others. Also CASH ONLY
