I'm trying to catch up on reviews that I should have left a LONG time ago. I was here in March 2019 with my vegan partner. I had previously lived in Guatemala and was showing him some of my favorite places. When I lived in...Guate, I was not vegetarian. When I returned in 2019, I was. I had been missing foods like Pepian, but I didn't think I would find a vegetarian/vegan version. But they had it! And it was so good! I don't know if it's still on the menu, but based on the quality of the food last year, you'll be happy with whatever you order. This whole organization is just great. We also took a weaving class through them and had a wonderful time. Get out of the other "laguna" towns, come to Santa Cruz and have a great meal! And the view is great too!More

We love the Kaq’Ik (traditional stew) and a cold Moza. The pizza was decent as well, but honestly, everything tastes good sitting on that rooftop.

Thanks for visiting us! And thanks for supporting the young chefs of Santa Cruz!

We stayed in Santa Cruz for a few days and were told that Cafe Sabor would be one of the best places to get a bite to eat in this quiet village. It definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent and the view from...the terrace is stunning, even on a cloudy day.More

Wow! Authentic food with beautiful presentation and vibrant flavours! So delicious I think we have to come back for their Cooking Course. Panoramic views, friendly staff, great cause---doesn't get any better than this. My favourite meal in Guatemala so far. Totally worth walking up that...massive hill (next time I will take a tuktuk!).More

We rewarded our mid afternoon hike up the hill to the Santa Cruz village with a couple of drinks at Sebora Cafe. The view from the cafe is amazing and the cafe ambience is pleasant and well decorated as well. We had a Mango Licuardo...and Guatemalan Hot Chocolate and both were inexpensive and delicious. The cafe is run by locals and also part of an NGO that supports the local community. There are also cooking classes and other classes here as well.More

we LOVED this restaurant! The food was amazing. Best Tacos we've ever had. The prices were incredible, and the view was stunning. Also, the restaurant has an incredible, empowering mission. Would highly recommend! It was our favorite restaurant in Lake Atitlan.

Family members and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cafe Sabor Cruceno in Santa Cruz on Feb. 6. Chef Santiago and staff like Claudia worked wonders with beef, salad and tiramisu and were highly attentive to our group's needs. If you're able, take time to...learn about CECAP, an organization in the same building that is transforming the community through its educational efforts. We also enjoyed shopping for lovely crafts at the Artisan's store, also in the CECAP building. -Duane N, Feb. 12, 2020More

We went here for an early dinner, but ordered off the lunch menu. We both had chicken tacos. They were very good and a nice large portion. It is up the hill from the dock (take a tuk tuk for a few GTQ) with amazing...view of the lake and volcanoes. Alfredo was our waiter. He was very nice and spoke a little English.More

My hubby and I took a cooking class and it was absolutely amazing. I have taken cooking classes before in Lake Atitlan and this was by far the best. We took the class with 3 other people so it was a nice sized class. Our...menu consisted of tomalitos, pepian and rellenitos de platanos. We had the vegetarian meal which was pepian made with tofu. The instructor was so patient and went through the cooking process in detail. She explained the cooking directions and even taught us about the history and customs of today. The class was about three hours long which flew by rather quickly from all the fun we were having. After making the meal, the teacher taught us how to plate our appetizers in a fancy manner which was an added bonus. The meal we made was served on their rooftop with a beautiful view of the lake. They served it with a yummy drink called Balam. The food was outstanding and you will be so proud of yourself for having made such a delicious meal. For $28usd or 200Q per person it is well worth the price. Whether you are a total beginner or a home cook you will enjoy this class.More
