Theres a reason Gringo Curts is number 1 in Drake Bay. He only has a few options, but he rocks them all. The fish is always fresh from that day. Its really unfortunate that he temporarily closed for the low season.

We entered there by chance and we are glad we did. Not only the fish was delicious, but during the short time we were there we could observe a wide variety of colorful birds and have interesting discussions about Costa Rica, its wild life, hiking...More

You go for the milkshakes and the amazing fish plates, but it’s the hundreds of birds visiting the feeding area that you remember. And you remember Curt. Best place in Drake, by far!

We went in one afternoon to do some bird watching at the suggestion of some fellow travellers at our hotel. The birds were brilliant and Curt clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about them and the whole environment of Drake Bay both land and marine. We...More

This place came highly recommend from the internet and our friend (Ronnie) in Puerto Jimenez. We now know why! The Mahi Mahi grilled in banana leaves served with fresh vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes was beyond our expectations! It was amazing! Don’t forget to try...More

We are not used to going to a restaurant in Drakes Bay as there used to be none....times have changed. Make a reservation as it will fill up fast. Engaging host. Great food. Great value.

Delicious, fresh off the boat, one meal serves three! Plus, lovely viewing of local birds and a fantastic rum drink that lasts the evening. We ate here several times, it was THAT GOOD!!

A small, intimate environment with a very limited menu. The fish was fresh caught, vegetables are fresh, and everything was prepared very nicely. It was a very good meal for Costa Rica, reasonably priced. My only complaint was with Curt himself. He talked on and...More

I am very glad that you enjoyed your meal, but it is unfortunate that you felt I spoilt the atmosphere. As we are a visitor center in addition to a restaurant, guests often ask me questions and I do my best to respond. Usually, people...More

There were three plates we could choose. Two of them were to be shared with two persons. One of these was vegetarian. The portions are large and the fish was really good. Probably necessary to book one day in advance, especially in high season.

Curt‘s is definitively the place with the best food in Drake Bay. The fish is super fresh and delicious. I also loved the smoothies and you can receive really good advice for tours and places to go to. If you are a big group, I‘d...More

Description
Gringo Curt's Seafood & Visitor Center was established June 2010 and our menu has not changed to date. We have pride in our small menu because it assures that we can provide freshness throughout the year by purchasing fruits, vegetables and fresh fish, locally and daily. There are many benefits to having same day caught fish but one downside is that we cannot guarantee a time that we can open. If we have fish at 12pm, we open. Thank you for your consideration and look forward to your visit Pura Vida!
