Fantastic fresh sushi, great service ! Cute and clean place with several tables. More of an intimate setting.

We had a fantastic time here and the food was wonderful and fresh. Our server was really fun! The place is easy to find and clean inside.
If what this restaurant is peddling is called sushi then a Thanksgiving turkey is actually a trout. If you are new to sushi this is going to be a bad first experience. If you're a seasoned sushi eater you'll be hugely disappointed. Gross Mushy flavorless...rice. Sashimi with the skin still on it. If it were cheap that would be one thing but it's not it's as expensive other sushi places but low low quality.More
This was my first time experience with food here. Got delivery. WE opted for both Veg and Non Veg rolls. It was good. Food was fresh and tasty. Just do not attempt to taste wasabi on its own :)
I'm a local, and go here once or twice a month. They've got a good selection and the raw fish quality is great. I'm always comfortable here, and there's the choice of eating in the bar, or at a table, or at the outdoor patio...when the weather (temperature) is suitable. They're one of the few sushi places that carries Natto, the fermented Japanese soybeans. I can't say enough good about Sushi 101 - it's not the cheapest but quality is equal to any in the east valley. The staff is always cheerful, and the happy hour pricing is a good deal. I recommend the salmon, tuna or yellowtail sashimi (or Nigiri), and for rolls, the Salmon roll is great for the price. Also, a couple of good vegetarian options are the sweet potato and asparagus/tempura rolls.More
it is a great place for a good sushi, there are a lot of variety of sushi and all are very very good!!!the service is fantastic! I definitely will come back.
It's a good place for college kids to get food. It's right off campus and fairly cheap during happy hour. The taste was kind of average. Nothing that blew me away. I did enjoy that there was a vegan menu! There were many, many different...options to choose from. I will say the service was great, she was very attentive.More
The bar area is great for large parties. A great atmosphere and good food. Will need to come back for a variety of sushi or combos.
My boys took me here for Mother's Day and first of all it was a little too dark and a little too cold. The sushi was good; we tried the baked salmon, shrimp tempura, moonwalk (with sweet potato), and standard California rolls. All were good....The miso soup was very good. I even had a sake bomber and I liked it. We were there for happy hour which included discounted prices on their rolls.More
If you live in the Tempe area you know that RA sushi is probably one of the best places to go for sushi. Although, I tried Sushi 101 last week for the first time and I was quite impressed. It's reasonably priced and the sushi...is very delicious. We had of course the Vegas Roll (best I have ever had), and some other random specialties. All were very good, I dont think you can go wrong here. Happy hour is a decent discount, it starts rather early at 9, and each roll is a couple of dollars off. All of the servers were pretty cute so it would be an overall good experience for most people. IF you like sushi.More
I was not expecting much based on the name of the restaurant. Our plans had fallen through for another cocktail lounge so we decided that a mid-day snack would be a great idea. This place was a wonderful surprise! The bartender makes a perfect classic...vodka martini but also specialty cocktails including a pomegranate martini. Our Japanese waitress was very informative, friendly, and attentive. Admittedly, I was a bit hesitant to order any of the sushi because the restaurant's name is quite misleading and I will admit, I am a sushi snob. So to be on the safe side, we ordered two maki rolls: The Palm Spring roll and the Monsoon. We ordered the tofu cakes which are a modified version of agedashi tofu. The fish was extremely fresh, the sushi rice was appropriately made and did not fall apart. The size of the sushi pieces was also appropriate. Everything was fantastic! I will definitely try other appetizers and some nigiri and/or sashimi next time. We were delighted and are looking forward to returning.More
The waiters are the nicest people ever! They are very attentive and the sushi here is by far the best sushi I have had. I have been back 10 times now
We were in Tempe looking for a sushi place and spotted this establishment. It was a good find. The place was busy for a Thursday evening. We asked for patio seating and that probably added to the wait, but it was not that long and...proved to be worth the time. Once seated our server was prompt and efficient. We ordered sushi, sashimi, seaweed salad and rice. All were presented tasty and nicely presented. We left feeling we had found a new regular stop when we are in the area.More
Located right next ASU, this seems to be a student favorite. I am not a Sushi connoisseur however, I've liked almost every single item I have tried. They do have decent vegetarian options too that my vegetarian friends like! The staff is always cheerful and...friendly. They knock off a dollar or 2 on every item during happy hours.More
We had been here before, and it was pretty decent, so we decided to try it again after going to an ASU baseball game. There were a ton of staff and basically only three other tables besides us. We ordered our drinks and it took...20 minutes before we got them. When the waitress came back, she took our order, and then it took almost an hour to get our sushi. When we finally got it, it wasn't very fresh and didn't taste very good at all. I could understand the poor service if they were super busy and understaffed, but this was ridiculous. This is probably the worst sushi I have ever had. Won't be going back!More
