The Paulus restaurant has about 6 francesinhas on its menu: 4 meat, one fish and one vegetable (these two shouldn't be called francesinhas, but something else).
I always opt for the francesinha to the chef, in this case Paullus, as I think this is where the chef tries to do his best.
The ingredients of the francesinha à Paullus are: sirloin steak, paio, sausage, crispy onion, bacon, cheese and a kebab with 3 prawns. It comes with an egg on horseback with bacon, crispy onion, accompanied by fries. The portion of fries could be more generous, but it will be enough for one person so you don't eat too much. The quality of the sirloin steak is very good and it is cooked to perfection, neither overcooked nor undercooked, so it ends up pleasing everyone. The paio, sausage, crispy onion, bacon, cheese, are high quality ingredients which make it an excellent francesinha with a traditional touch. The traditional francesinha was made with roasted meat, but nowadays few houses use roasted meat for the francesinhas.
The other very important addition to the francesinha is the sauce. Without a doubt, the francesinha sauce at the Paulus restaurant is a light sauce, appetizing without being spicy or as heavy as the francesinha sauces in Porto or the north. The Northern francesinha sauce is generally richer, thicker and very spicy, stronger in everything. Not necessarily better, but more to the taste of northerners (which I include myself, being from Porto).
This sauce is a sauce that most customers like and you can always add spicy, chilli, pepper or another ingredient. The opposite is not possible.
The size of the francesinha allows two people who eat relatively little to share a francesinha with 1 individual serving of potatoes for each person at an additional cost, which I think is perfectly acceptable.
I rate this francesinha as one of the best, if not the best, you can eat in greater Lisbon and the south zone.

After traveling around Portugal, I can confidently say that here are the best francesinhas you will ever eat! The meal proportion is pretty good, one person is full after one francesinha, especially if you ask for more sauce and potatoes (free by the way)!
After the main course, I would suggest you try the expensive Petit Gateau! Even if you are not a big fan of chocolate, the ice-cream and the various different topics it has makes it really astonishing!

Fantastic place to taste the famous dish “Francesinha” in Lisbon if you can’t travel to Porto. The food was tasty and the staff is really friendly and professional.

We went to experiment and the result was negative.
We ordered a lagareiro cod, which presented itself with the modernices of the employment, but with low quality and in small quantity (they served the part of the hidden cod tail!).
Also the caril of gambas was served in a bowl, with the rice mixed, wrapping the gambas, which disappointed me. Also the taste did not convince.
Prices too high for what they give the customer.
As the only positive point, I must highlight the excellent service at the table.

We just moved to Ramada and were looking for a restaurant to celebrate. We arrived at Paullu’s on a Monday night right after it opened and are glad we did. By 9:00 it was packed without one free table. Our waiter was wonderful and very accommodating considering we communicated with mostly gestures and some Spanish. The atmosphere is relaxing, modern and upscale with a pianist playing instrumental music starting around 8;30. Their menu has a large selection of meats, seafood and also some vegetarian options. After ordering bacalao a chef and bife a chef, we were served a delicious cheese with sliced French bread. This was followed by our entrees. The Bacalao was served on a bed of spinach and roasted potatoes. This was our first time eating this Spanish/Portuguese specialty and it really wasn’t our favorite. It is definitely an acquired taste but we imagine this restaurant makes it quite well. The bife on the other hand, was delicious and served with a creamy black truffle sauce. French fries were served as a side. Besides wine, we splurged on an apple tart with vanilla ice cream. Quite a delightful end to the meal.
With tip, our bill came to around $60. Incredible value for the quality of the food and restaurant. We highly recommend. Also, we were the only Americans there. It is definitely frequented by the locals.

People from all around come to this place, famous for the best meat around lisbon. Francesinhas is their speciality - the best francesinhas south of Porto. Great hip and upbeat place to enjoy food with friends or family - 10 km suburb of lisbon.

Service is not the best, being a busy restaurant, some waiters are always rushing, not paying the necessary attention to customers.
Apart from that we had a good time. Variety of tasty starters, which if you are not careful can fill you up like a main. Had the Primor beef which was just delicious. Everyone at the table was quite happy with their choices. Red berries sangria was fantastic! Red berries cheesecake could be better. Will definitely return to this place again.

I was there with my friends and no one told us there that we will need to pay for aperitives we don't ordered. Also we all had stomachache after served dishes. The waiter think that we are from Russia and said goodbye in that language, but we are from Poland, do that was also faux pas.

Love this restaurant. From the design, to the staff and of course the food.
I had the Tiago hamburger and I must say, it was amazing.
My wife had the grilled turkey steaks and the quality was great.
In the end we had pineapple with honey and cinnamon. A great combination!
We do highly recommend this restaurant if you pass by odivelas.
Enjoy!

What a nice surprise we had at this restaurant. We arrived a little late, at 21:00 and so and I arrived at the counter and almost half afraid I asked if we could have dinner. You answered me with a giant smile saying: of course yes! We sat down and were taken care of by Mr. Victor who was of a giant sympathy and we were treated as regular customers, a feeling of home. The food: we ate the French at paullus and it was one of the best I have ever eaten. My husband even ate a cream milk, which was super well made, but I did not go to dessert anymore. Excellent quality/price ratio and again to emphasize the service that won our hearts. Definitely to repeat!
