We came here super hungry and expecting a delicious meal. My husband got the pambazo, but that was not really a pambazo As far as what were used to in Texas or Mexico. I got the torta ahogada, and that was not what I was...expecting Either. they put a thick salsa on top of the bread, but it was not actually dipped and drowned like the name suggests. The waiter did warn me it was spicy, and it really was. This place does not actually have a salsa bar like the pictures suggest. However, they did bring 3 small samples of salsa to the table. I might give this place another chance, but we would get something different. Neither one was impressed with these tortas.More

Family-friendly casual food. Loved my torta and this place has plenty of veggie options. It definitely seemed like a lot of locals were stopping by for lunch

This is a wonderful Mexican family restaurant located in West Sedona and also located in the Village of Oak Creek. They offer a variety of home cooked Mexican dishes and their portions are generous. This is one of our favorite local gems. We visit Sedona...twice a year and always make it a point to stop here for lunch or dinner. Their entire staff is friendly and helpful.More

Away from the tourist traps. Check. Authentic Mexican food (and not the fake American variety), check We came back twice. The first day we both had quesadillas. Mine was was one of the pork varieties and My wife had The carne asada. Both were first...right. The second day I had one of the pork tortas. It was filled with pork. Pickled jalapenos grilled onions, lettuce, tomato. Again wonderful. My wife had two al pastor tacos. Great flavorful. We made the mistake of having the same food at a tourist place. Inferior and incredibly expensive. A $12 taco! I accept full responsibility! Eat here.More

After a very long day travelling from the east coast of Canada. We arrived in Sedona. Just looking for something to take back to our room. We were booked into the Element, by Marriott. Basically next to the plaza where at Tortas de Fuego is....We decided to get a quesadilla to share. It was in a small pizza box, which made it easy to carry to our room. The care and attention to this quesadilla was as though we were seated in the restaurant. We were very happy with our quesadilla meal choice. It was perfect for us to share. The staff were great.More

The food was decent but the reason I’m giving this a 1 star which should truly be a 0 star is because of the service I received last night. Our server was fine but the problem arose from another server. Usually at many Mexican restaurants...if I ask for a side of pico its complimentary and even if it is not then the server informs me that it’s extra. So I asked another server for pico and he said ok and brought it out. After our meal we went to the front counter to pay because our original server was busy and the server who brought the pico out was there. We asked why there was a $5 charge for a side of pico and said nothings free you ordered it. I said “I understand but when I ordered it you didn’t tell me it was going to be extra otherwise I would not have ordered it. Our server informed me that handmade tortillas were extra and I said ok that’s fine we will still take the handmade tortillas” he then said “what Mexican restaurant gives free pico. And you saw on the menu” I said “plenty do or atleast they inform me it’s extra. When I asked u for the pico I didn’t have the menu, our server had taken it” He then proceeds to continue to give me A LOT of attitude and yell in front of other customers until our original server came. Our server was understanding and said “yeah I’m sorry he should have told you.” Still left a tip for our server but to be honest the amount of disrespect and embarrassment I received from dining at that restaurant was something I’ll never forget. I caution everyone to go to this restaurant because this server ruined the entire experience. I hope the owner knows that his servers are bringing down. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!More

THE PLACE IS NOT FANCY BUT THE SERVICE IS AS GOOD...AS THE FOOD. I'M MEXICAN AND THIS REMINDS ME OF MY GRANDMOTHERS EXCELLENT DISHES. YOU MUST GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY.More

What a lovely find, and we'll be back. Up front warning: both the place and parking lot are quite small - but the food is BIG! Big on taste and big on what you get for your money. We went on Tuesday, so of course...I had to try the Taco Tuesday special (one of each chicken, pork, beef). Soooooo good! My husband had the regular chicken tacos and was very happy with them. Just a FYI the taco Tuesdays are tortillas stuffed with the meat then fried and topped, the regular tacos are soft shells, and the everyday special are pre-fried shells then stuffed when ordered. The staff was fantastic and although it was full when we got there, the wait was less then 15 minutes. They also seem to do a brisk take out business if you are interested. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!More

Seems like a local spot. Staff was friendly. Parking/Dining Space is limited and you will need to wait outside if it’s busy. Definitely not for groups over 4. Food was good. The menu is huge and diverse for those who eat beyond chicken/ground beef.

We stumbled into this place just based on the full parking lot. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a table for lunch on Labor Day. Food was excellent and with the wait. So good we went back the next day too. Had one ground...beef tostada and a carnitas burrito the first day. Second day two ground beef tostadas and a taco, enchilada and flauta combo plater. All very good. Not a fancy place but worth visiting. Muy bueno!More
