The Mission has a great local, lively vibe. I ate dinner solo; they serve the full menu at the bar. The guacamole is incredible. Signature margaritas are fun (blood orange is delicious). Flat iron steak was okay. I would certainly go back.

Where to begin. Ambiance. Check. Gorgeous outdoor dining area. Check. Amazing interior aura. Check. Informative/friendly/gregarious waiter. Check. Finally, the food. Sublime. Had the made at table guacamole. Best ever. Went with the steak tacos and was as amazing as advertised. If you are in Scottsdale, you must stop here to experience this place.

Make reservations as this restaurant is not that large and fills quickly. The restaurant is dimly lit so have your phone flashlight handy. Wait staff inviting and informative about menu items and very attentive. We were encouraged to try the table side guacamole which we did. It was good but the build up we had heard about it left us... We read the reviews and decided it would be a good choice. We were originally seated about 18 inches from another couple having their dinner. We asked to be moved. They move us outside, which was fine, but they moved us directly adjacent a 6 foot high industrial fan. Since we had already been moved once we sucked it up!... More

The food is superlative, the menu is creative, the service is great, the drinks menu and wine list are very nice. Inside is really dark; we had to ask for a flashlight to read the menu and most people were using their cell phone lights to see the menu. The music was too loud - we could not visit with... More

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday. It was a first for the both of us. I highly recommend getting a reservation like we did if you are dining here on a weekend night. It gets very busy. We enjoyed a nice glass of wine at the bar as we were a little early. Our waiter was fantastic as... More

I recently had an amazing date night basking in the ambiance of the dimly lit Mission. Their take on Southwest cuisine is an outstanding flavor sensation, I highly suggest the table side Guacamole ask for it spicy, this combined with their Blood Orange Margarita will take your tastebuds to a euphoric state. The Pork shoulder tacos are served in a... More

This AZ native found dining outside on a Friday evening in late January fabulous for the ambiance on the patio. Our party of five were seated very comfortably at a round table, with extra elbow room, but not too huge that we'd have to shout to be heard. Prices are high, as you would expect in this part of town.... More

The absolute best guacamole I've ever had. Dishes are good all around. But the guacamole is unforgettable.

Spending a couple nights in Phoenix and decided to try this place out after looking for reviews. Very cool atmosphere in old Scottsdale next door to a beautiful historic Catholic church. Menu very inventive, lots of great options; ended up going for the table side guacamole and pork shoulder tacos. Everything was delicious and service impeccable, margarita was very well... More

Description
Old Town Scottsdale’s heart is beating to a Latin drum, now that The Mission has arrived and brightened the restaurant scene. Renowned Zinc Bistro Chef Matt Carter is now cooking up modern Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America. Home made Tortillas, Arepas, and Salsas are made fresh daily and all meats are prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor.
