My wife picked this when our first choice was booked up. Very happy with the ribs. She loved the fried pickle chips. We were both disappointed with the Mac N Cheese with jalapeños. Bland and boring, and the jalapeños were sweet, not spicy or even...vinegary. IMHO jalapeños should NEVER be sweet, they should provide spice & bite. With the blandness of the dish the sweet jalapeños simply added insult to injury.
But don’t let that deter you if you like bbq.More
Small place but highly recommend for BBQ. Reservations recommended. We went without but waited at the bar until our table was ready. Great and friendly service! Now for the food... Entrees were amazing. I had the pulled pork, my husband and my son's friend each...had the St. Louis ribs, and my son had the Can Can Pork Steak, which he couldn't stop talking about. Highly recommend any one of these. Couple of the sides, not as amazing. Consensus on the baked beans and mac and cheese was eh! No flavor to both. The cheesy grits and roasted carrots, however, were tasty. If back in town, will surely stop in again.More
Went here on a busy Saturday nite, but we had reserved with open table, so no problem. Our table was ready. Quite busy and tables are close, but service and food is very good. Would not hesitate to return. Prices great as well.
Being Texans transplants we were excited to try the Starlite BBQ. My Boo got the full brisket w/ Jalapeño cheese grits. I got the Meat Loaf with the Braised greens. YUMMY!! WOW! Both were delicious! Having said that, I think the meat loaf was a...tad too sweet. I love greens & those braised greens are amazing. The complimentary cornbread was divine! We also ordered the Mesquite grilled cauliflower as a side served with a green goddess dressing & the Green chile pork appetizer w/ fritos. Think frito pie! So tasty! We had lots of leftovers & enjoyed this yumminess at home as well. The service was great! This is a small place in a shopping strip with also outside seating. Bae also got the C'est La Vie drink which was pretty good w/ vodka, blueberries & a splash of bubbles.
My only complaint was the ladies bathroom. There's no hook or table, (and there's plenty of room for a small table) to put one's purse.More
I've been here a handful of times, and it took me a while to come back after my first visit (when they first opened) and I'm glad I did!
I have brought friends gere for happy hour and lunch. This is a hit for spring...training visitors after the game (close enough to walk to).
I've attached a number of photos to show the food, the place (LOVE the adjustable bar stools), and the spirit of the place.
If you are in the area, I highly recommend Starlite BBQ not just for the food, but the amazing folks that work here...come in, and feel at home....More
We went for lunch on a weekend. Very Nice modern casual restaurant. I think that was the intent to have BBQ at a place not greasy and smokey. Three of us tried separate dishes on their brunch menu. I tried the cast iron green Chile...Pork with fried egg on Fritos. Disappointed in the amount of fat included with the pork. Large chunks of fat should have been removed before plating. The Pork flavor was ...okay. Nothing special.
Daughter had Pulled Pork and side of cheese Grits. They were okay, again nothing remarkable, No special smoke or seasoning. Just tasted like electric oven pork. The cheeze grits where the instant or smooth texture as opposed to stone ground. Texture and mildness made them seem bland, but the wife and daughter thought they were okay.More
small place but good food. We felt a little pricey and the drinks could have been a little better. Cocktail definitions in AZ are different than in the Midwest. Good amount of food and we did take some home.
Located in back corner of a strip mall parking lot! Best "fall off the bone" Baby Back Ribs in Scottsdale. Individual homemade corn bread in small cast iron skillets was a sumptuous treat. Homemade sauce variety on tables. Bar offers creative drinks.. Make a reservation,...very popular and very small inside but there is patio seating.More
Had dinner with the family on their extended/covered patio. The food was OK and the service was OK. But we all felt that the drinks were especially overpriced. Seemed to be trying to be a bit on the snooty side...but never quite hit the mark.
