We flew into Scottsdale from Ohio to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary (and to get away from the cold weather). I researched an appropriate location for the celebration and EVERY expectation was met. The evening was magic! We were met and seated at an excellent table where champagne was immediately served. The interior is excellent and very conducive for a... More

We had dinner for 3 here on December 30 before the Fiesta bowl. It was raining and this sent the place into a whirlwind. They recovered admirably. The fixed price meal is overwhelming and excellent. I had the filet and it was as good as anywhere I have ever eaten. Our service was excellent but the atmosphere I not real... More

Monarch's lovely location nestled off a quiet street in Scottsdale was new to us and we were pleased they had a large parking area in front of the restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We were escorted to a garden dining area beautifully laid out. Service was excellent if not a teeny weeny bit cloying. Food was nicely prepared... More

I read the reviews for this restaurant and decided that this certainly sounded better than a steak house. Boy were we all surprised, definitely in a great way! It was a price fix on the higher side and worth every penny! From the service, our waiter Sam, incredible to the food which was truly superb and mouth watering with every... More

The Monarch is a first class, 5* experience all the way around. From the light canopy on the patio to the romantic individual bistro tables, to the well-educated servers and wine sommelier. We visited for the first time for a birthday dinner (table for 2) and the experience lived up to the high expectations we had. The menu and wine... More

A few days before Christmas, my family and I visited the Monarch for the first time. It is a relatively small and quiet environment. The four course prix fixe had outstanding and varied tastes that kept getting more outstanding with every course. We can't decide which course was best and we made a point of trying different things for each... More

The four course prix fixe was flawless and delicious as to quality and presentation and our server was informative and responsive. I was disappointed in the ambiance as the tables were small and very close together and it was rather noisy. Not what I expected for a special night out with my wife. I would rate it as a 4... More

This is a small, intimate, fairly quiet establishment with inventive cuisine and impeccable service. Everything about the dining experience here is first rate. If you are from out of town, I recommend dining here. If you are a native and haven't heard of or tried this place, you have something to look forward to. My wife and I went here... More

My husband and I just ate a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Our entire experience was excellent. This is a small restaurant, so reservations are a must. Much of the seating is outdoors, so be aware that rain means they lose that seating. It rained, so we expected a wait and arrived a little early. We were immediately greeted and seated... More

Open Table named the Monarch Cafe as one of the Top 100 restaurants in the country. What a perfect place to have dinner with long time friends from Colorado who are now "snowbirds". Reservations are recommended. The prix fixed menu included four courses. The first two courses are fixed; a Kabocha Squash- Cauliflower Soup and a Winter Salad w/ local... More
