You walk into the Dinner Bell and you feel like you are in the local's place that has been there forever. This is the classic cafe that has great breakfasts, nothing fancy. I've been here several times when visiting from out of state, and always...More
This place has been around forever. The food has always been good and filling, and the staff is always friendly. On a holiday weekend, get there early for breakfast. It's not unheard of to have to wait a bit for a table. Within walking distance...More
Nothing fancy, it's an old-fashioned, small town cafe that does it right. I've had many, many breakfasts & lunches here. The food is tasty, hearty and served by friendly servers. Consistently good & always worth a return visit.
Met a friend here for the second time within a month. Breakfast is very good for a great value. Service was quite good both times, with friendly servers, who were eagle-eyed to make sure coffee and water was replenished.
This is the Classic old fashion diner. Waitresses are friendly and make you feel like you belong and have coming for years. Food is very good and there is no 'eat and have leave' attitude. I would recommend anything on the menu.

The back of Dinner Bell, now Casa Alvarez Mexican food, already had the two large roll up windows overlooking the creek, when the current owner and Chef, Ben Alvarez purchased Dinner Bell a few years ago. Ben has further developed the nice outside eating area behind the building. I do not know previous history on this landmark. I can tell you that the Mexican food is some of the best and most authentic in the state, not to belittle the Dinner Bell breakfast and lunches, which offer home made style food. Maybe Ben Alvarez who owns both restaurants, can help further, at (928) 445-9888.
