This place is legit. By far the best tacos around. Fresh tortillas, corn or flour they are both awesome. Love the breakfast tacos. The bean and chorizo are as good as my abuelita used to make!

The special today was chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, delightful! We also had 2 tacos that I asked be similar to shredded beef, another yum...followed by flan and arroz con leche and chips and salsa. Everything was fresh, pleasing to the eye and a...great environment. A step up from a taco stand without the rush of a sit down restaurant. Lots of seats even at a busy noon.More

We ate here with a large group and need quick service. Not only was the service quick and friendly, but the food was excellent! I had the steak tacos with beans and rice, while my wife had the green chili enchiladas. Both were delicious. The...steak was prepared fresh and had great flavor. They have a salsa bar with several different kinds (the salsa verde was my favorite!) of salsa, including additional toppings for your tacos. The tortilla chips are also self help, so you can indulge in chips and salsa until your heart is content!More

While waiting for our flight home we drove around, getting frustrated, but determined to find a family-style Mexican restaurant that might surprise. That's when we stumbled across EL Taco Tote on Camelback Road. All the patrons appeared to be local employees and families and we...were the only two dopey-looking white folks - and we felt completely at home. The food looked hot, fresh and authentic. The woman at the counter was excited to help us place our order, and we made it clear we couldn't tolerate any spicy food. She directed us to a neat plate of cod fish tacos loaded with sliced cabbage, a mild chile rellanos, quesadilla, a bean dish, and their signature fresh tortillas. Our meal was delivered to our table as we enjoyed watching the team of ladies behind the glass counter making the tortillas by scooping doughy balls of masa, flattening them with the aid of plastic wrap, and cooking them up on a blazing hot griddle. They smelled heavenly, and tasted even better. There was a generous salsa bar in the center of the restaurant loaded with sliced veggies and a half-dozen varieties of home-made salsa. When we ordered at the counter, we asked for sour cream and were issued two small tubes for (i think) 29 cents each. What a hoot. I checked out the restroom, which was clean and orderly, but required that I borrow a key, presumably to keep out any no-good-nicks. I equate a clean customer bathroom with a good overall commitment to cleanliness, and this place passed muster with me. We dallied afterward, watching local workers and small families digging in vigorously to what turned out to be a very satisfying meal for all of us.More

Best steak tacos In Phoenix!! Great menudo and chilequilles as well. They have a salsa bar all great and fresh and chips all fresh and taste great. Different Levels of spice to appeal to all. My 4 yr old son loves the chips and salsa.

Like many other reviews the food was terrific -- no complaints. My issue came when I didn't want rice and beans on my burrito. I was told that the burrito would be that big without these ingredients. Not sure what difference it makes if that's...not the way I wanted it. I don't like Spanish rice but requested to have the beans on the side. I was told that couldn't be done. After I insisted, they were willing but charged me for them even after I stated to just put the amount that would go into the burrito on the side -- I wasn't trying to get over and get "extra" beans. Sorry to have been such a pain...and so I've decided to not return or if I do eat it the way they want me to (is that how it should be; was I too demanding I asked myself).More

We are local but live in another area of town and not familiar with the options. We noticed that this restaurant was busy and decided to give it a try. Lots of options for lunchtime. The manager recommended the special grilled mahi tacos. He offered...to take them back if we didn't like them. They were delicious and a real treat. This morning we were back for second day of tournament and couldn't wait to try breakfast. Everything made to order. Homemade tortillas etc.. Fantastic can't wait for lunch!More

This has become one of my favorite places for great tacos and enchiladas. Love their salsa bar and unlimited self-serve chips.
