Wonderful spot with an unusual menu with a variety of delicious options. Everything our group had was great, although quantity varied significantly, so ask your server if that is important. The seating in the partially outdoor area we sat in was basically picnic benches, but...it was not crowded so we had one to ourselves. There were other regular tables under the trees outside this area, but they were not in use at the time we were there. That would have been a nicer ambiance.More

This place is a bit on the higher end for what we would normally go to with children. They do not have a children's menu, but there are still options for most kids and the wait staff is very helpful. Kids even have a safe...outside space where they can run around.More

We started with Mimosas ($19 for a full bottle of prosseco) and an order of eggplant meatballs ($12) that were absolutely delicious.

Nice atmosphere. We ate inside since no reservations were available outside. We had the chicken and the pork chop. Both prepared very well. Not a fan of the preparation on the collards with the chop. Good service

One of the most beautiful restaurants I've eaten at. We were there in December, and looking for outdoor dining. Ocotillo has a huge outdoor space with beautiful lights and trees, and an outdoor bar that must be quite a draw later at night. The tables...are quite separate, and well off the street, so noise is not a problem. Imaginative salads and small plates. I had two seafood dishes, and another person in our party had the ribs- the biggest, meatiest ribs I've ever seen! All in all, we had a lovely experience there.More

We stopped here to pick up brunch on our way through town. I called and ordered ahead in the car. The person that took my call was so nice and said they would delay putting the order in so that it was fresh when we...got there. The restaurant is beautiful and has two outdoor patios! I wish we could have stayed to enjoy our food outside. The food was ready when we got there and pick up was very easy. We ordered the chimichangas, the avocado toast, and the hash cakes. I may sound melodramatic, but these hash cakes were the best hash browns I've ever had in. my. life. Crispy on the outside and smooth on the inside. I honestly could have had 12 more orders! The chimichangas were delicious. Perfectly balanced with the different ingredients -not too eggy, not too cheesy. And the sauce it was smothered in was perfect! Avocado toast was tasty too and hit the spot that morning. So glad we stopped here and will definitely stop in again!More

It is in Central Phoenix, very close to where I live but it took a friend to introduce me to it. We went for brunch and sat on one of their lovely patios. The indoors is quite nice, too. The only drawback is that they...don't serve lunch, just weekend brunch (menu type). Otherwise, they open at 3 for Happy Hour and then dinner.More

Impressive entrance -- walkway lined with lighted trees. Several seating areas to choose from. The only disappointment was the outside seating had picnic tables. For a classy restaurant, they should have had real tables, especially since its a covered area. Nonetheless, our waiter was terrific...- very attentive. The ribs were to die for. My husband also raved about his dinner.More

The menu is something to see, from small tapas-like dishes to larger meals. They all sound delicious on the menu - too many to select from. So, with the direction of our waiter and the bartender (from earlier), all four of us selected something different....Each meal was so outrageously good that we had to stop talking because we were too busy eating! Think about getting reservations, especially if you want ti sit outside.More

Service was superb and perfectly responsive and non-intrusive. Food was excellent. The house smoked salmon is juicy and Smokey. I could eat it every day! Perfect! My guest loved the burger, prepared exactly as ordered. Wonderful presentation of both meals. I will definitely return to...try more of the unique items. Great vegan and GF options and the house smoked chicken looked amazing.More

I've been here 5 times now and everything is always so good! They get really busy on the weekends, so I recommend calling to see if you can make a reservation. I've only been here for lunch brunch and dinner and they have a pretty...good size menu. Also, when you check in, you get a free coffee or mimosa on the brunch menu. I ordered their beef rib in mole sauce . I can't remember when I had such a great tasting rib, but they were huge and wasn't disappointed. I definitely want to come back to try their dinner menu. They also have happy hour as well and very cute patio seating.More

Ocotillo has all the makings of a good restaurant. It has a great menu, a sophisticated and attractive interior (and exterior!) design and setting, and an excellent vibe. Unfortunately, the makings of my meal--the food--were disappointing. And, after all, isn't the food a primary reason...to go to a given restaurant? In my case, I ordered two plates. The first, Brussels Sprouts, was a well-conceived and tasty combination of flavors. The Brussels Sprouts themselves, however, were seriously undercooked. I don't mean crisp or al dente: I mean essentially uncooked. They looked cooked--good color, etc--but they were beyond tough. Barely more than raw. Not good and not consumable. Then I moved to a second dish--also a very nicely put together combination of potato dumplings and braised meat. Great flavors. Again, however, not cooked--as in the dumplings had a center of raw and completely uncooked batter. Not just a little bit of batter or slightly undercooked but rather half the dumpling was nothing more than wet batter. If you're a good restaurant you don't miss on these things. To their credit, they removed both items from my bill, which left me paying only for my Moscow Mule, which was delicious. So there's that. Look, Ocotillo is a very cool place. Maybe I'll go back and try it again. But, gee, there are so many good places to eat in Phoenix, it might be a while until I return to Ocotillo . . . they had their chance.More

What would be an acceptable time to get a menu at your table at 3pm on a slow Saturday? When you arrive? Five minutes. Ten minutes after your waitress sees you? Ever? Got up and left.

Dear Rich: This is blatantly untrue. You seated yourself at a table that was not set up, and was asked twice if you wanted a menu. You told the same server no both times.

Have passed on this place several times, but we decided to try it. It was a really bad experience all around. The seating inside is more than cozy, it’s awkward as your more or less sharing tables that are awkwardly split just enough for one...to get by and sit. It was ridiculous as the server couldn’t even come to our table. She had to lean over my shoulder. The wine was so so, with my glass getting maybe 4oz’s at best. The food was so underwhelming, at a price tag of nearly $30 a plate. The best part, (sarcastic), was some very large guy decided it would be great to come into the dining room and laugh at a decibel level that would make rock concert seem peaceful. He worked there, not sure if a manager or a cook. But this went on for several minutes. The couple who was eating next to us, close enough to hear our every word, was extremely annoyed by this loud dude. He actually apologized to them but not to us. I will not be back, ever. It’s underwhelming food. Go to China Chili across the street instead. At least the food is hot and the service is consistent.More
