Miserable owner should not be front of house. Food was decent but there are other, friendlier options available in town.

I have gone there regularly for several years and have noticed that the food quality has slipped considerably recently. Smaller portions and can see and taste a difference in food quality. The meat tasted dry and brittle with a funny aftertaste and fries were cold...and tasted like plastic. I won't be going back...they've lost my business.More
Not sure what the problem was. Maybe too late in the evening. Dolmas were mushy. Gyro was low on meat. Owner seemed ill.
I love coming to this family owned restaurant. Their gyros are big stuffed with meat and all of the goodies! French fries are classic hot, crispy and soft inside. Served super hot for under $9. Coupons are available to include a drink.
Great, local neighborhood place. Fantastic Gyros and Falafels. Good fries as well and a bargin. Had Gyros at a recommended place in Athens last year and Ammos is better! Very nice owner as well. In the mood for a Gyro, you cannot go wrong. Seems...there is a similar restaurant in every strip center in town and Ammos is indeed a cut above.More
Enjoyed a gyros, fries, and Diet Coke. These guys are the real thing and worthy of support. It’s all good.
Great place for Mediterranean food. Pitas are excellent. All the meats are tender and moist. Tri-tip pita and shish kabob pita are excellent. Soft drinks and tea, but no alcohol. Does a big take out business but plenty of room to eat there also. Owner...is very nice Lebanese man who served as a linguist with our armed forces in Iraq. Pretty busy on Friday night.More
This place is small, but clean. The staff is alway friendly. Any dish we have ordered has always been spot on, with wonderful flavors!!! This is one of my wife's favorite places to eat! BTW, Ammos support the military and police personnel, with ID they...gladly give a 10% discount!!!More
Great atmosphere, great people and great food! This place was good,The Shawarma Combo is the most wonderful explosion of wondrous flavor ever! ICan't say enough positive things about this small restaurant.
We hadn’t eaten here in a few months and just felt like a nice Mediterranean meal. We didn’t get it! The falafel were fried into hockey pucks and they screwed up our total order (I got something like a pita sandwich instead of what I...had ordered). I don’t believe we will return as there are better Mediterranean choices in the area.More
This was the second go-around having lunch at Ammos for my wife and me. I think we ordered the exact same items we ordered the first time months back: My wife went with the #11 Chicken Gyros Entrée, which included meat, rice, pita bread, and...a fresh, small salad. I ordered the Gyro Pita Combo, which came with a lamb & beef gyro plus fries and a soft drink. The meat was quite flavorful, and you get a good amount of it for your money! It's a nice, relaxed place to have a quiet, fulfilling lunch.More
Brought my family here today... Owner was very nice and food was food. Not at all greasy. It was definitely made with care. He is a military vet and provides discount to military and first responders.
I love this casual neighborhood restaurant. The food is fantastic, the menu is huge, and the staff is always great. The meat is high quality, and the gyros and Shawarma pitas are loaded with flavorful chicken, pork or beef. You can't go wrong by trying...this gem of a place!More
My wife and I stopped in here last week to give it a try. Someone had recommended it to her while she was in line at a nearby deli. I ordered the Gyro Pita Combo, which came with a lamb & beef gyro plus fries...and a soft drink. My wife got the #11 Chicken Gyros Entrée which included some rice, pita bread, and a small salad. Yum!! Everything was fresh and flavorful! My gyro was packed with plenty of meat, and was delicious! My wife was super happy with her choice of entrée, and because of how much she got, she was stuffed before she could finish it all, but I swooped in and polished it off! A nice, casual setting allowed us to enjoy our meal at one of their tables. Our total with tax was only $20.07. Excellent work, Ammos!More
The food is excellent. The gyros meat is from the best provider in the USA. We go there quite often. Our grandson loves the hamburger. The most important feature about this restaurant is the owner. Check the wall to see all that he has done...for the USA. He is an Iraqi Christian U.S. citizen who spent 5 years or so in Iraq helping the USA. Just last week, I went to the restaurant mid-afternoon to talk to him about politics. I don't agree with him on everything, but that's okay. I talked with him about several things that are not even mentioned in the news, and he is quite informed. So please go support a true patriot! And get him to talk about his past, even his time in Georgia. You will not be disappointed!More
