This has been a go to place for family from out of town gatherings and my mom’s favorite go to for years. Solo lunch on Sunday. The bar area seemed like a good choice since I was early and the only well-placed tables in the...main dining area are 4-tops and I imagined they would get pretty busy shortly for the after church crowd. There was a very strong breeze and both doors were open...mentioned it to bartender who acted like he could care less. Finally succumbed to moving as I was starting to shiver. Waited over 5 minutes at hostess stand and saw 2-tops open nearby ...thought of walking out but took a 2-top ..as soon as I sat down..a large table if 6 young men were whooping it up across from me and the unmistakable dishwasher clanks and sprayer noise was intrusive. Guess I’m stubborn ... I stayed for planked salmon with too much tarragon that was obnoxious toward the end. Carrots were supposed to be grilled or roasted but were hard and tasted idly like propane. Smashed and crispy fingerling potatoes were very nice..all 3 of them. Was still hungry (very small portions) si flagged down the hostess to ask for a slice of corn bread..that was a 2-3” square they ask $3 for. Server was brand new terrible just awful service. Busy staff going back and forth and no one ever checked to see if I needed anything or if I as enjoying my meal. Train you bussers before you let them serve. Saw the owner but no acknowledgement. Ignored and after $70 (enjoyed 2glasses of Kim Crawford) since it took forever to get service...on that “dining “ experience I’ll think 2x before I go back.More

Friendly, accommodating, and crowded in the best classic pub style. They bent over backwards to make us welcome and move our party of 8 to a bar table where we could watch the last game of the Series (go Braves!). Food is creative and flavorful....Our friend the bourbon aficionado found much to his liking and wise counsel from our savvy server.More

Thanks David we are so excited to see that you and your party enjoyed the visit to PCG... We love when Bourbon aficionados enjoy our extensive selection.

The pork tenderloin wrapped with prosciutto was delicious. My wife enjoyed the salmon. The food was all delicious, and the bourbon selection was amazing for outside of Kentucky. My issue had nothing to do with the food or service, but a nasty customer nearby talked...for 45 solid minutes, and then complained about his food being cold.More

I had not been to this restaurant in a long time. What I liked is what I remembered about it. With the push for healthy eating, good comfort food is hard to find. Phoenix City Grille is one of the best and last oases for...comfort food in Central Phoenix. The small plates/appetizers are unique and many are enough to be a meal by themselves. I had the Tillamook Cheddar burger-simple, big and delicious. They have wonderful desserts (when it is getting harder to find a good decadent dessert in town. I wish I had had more time (went there for lunch) to eat more food!More

The food preparation is really good and the excellent reputation is well deserved. The Phx City Grille is true to itself and I like that a lot. If excellent food and a piece of tradition is your thing, then don't miss this place.

I was underwhelmed overall by my dining experience here. I expected more based on its reviews. I have been here twice now - I decided to give it a second chance. The food was good overall but left more to be desired.

Excellent dining experience. Restaurant is well-prepared for opening with social distancing requirements and booth dividers. Our service from Karla was friendly and efficient. She was extremely helpful in providing information as we inquired about how to acquire similar booth dividers for our own restaurant. Our...meals were exceptionally well-prepared and delicious. My cedar plank salmon was divine and some of the best fish I’ve ever had. From atmosphere to service to food, an all around wonderful lunch out.More

My wife Sally and I just had the best time ever having dinner at the Grille again tonight. We had Carla, one of our favorite servers, and ate the pork tenderloin dinner. The dinner was great and the staff are always the best. I can't...wait for the virus scare to be over. The staff are taking every precaution to make even the most paranoid germaphobe comfortable. I think fear and food don't go well together, and besides, it's hard to eat with a mask on anyway.More

PCG offers take out as well as free delivery (by their own restaurant staff) -- $50 minimum for lunch and $100 for dinner -- but they also delivery booze and wine (which counts towards those minimums). The menu is a bit restricted during these trying...times, but it's still got something for everyone. And the food is still excellent. The pork ribs, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, bacon-wrapped stuffed shrimp, and grilled salmon were all excellent -- and arrived freshly made and hot. The "family size" Ramona Farms super food salad was beyond excellent -- for $12 it was more than enough for 4 plus leftovers. Overall, we could not have been any happier, and in fact did delivery from here twice (March and April). So grateful PCG is keeping us well fed during these trying times.More

The food was delicious. There were 5 people in our party and everyone chose a different food item. The service was very good. Our waitress was friendly; kept returning to see how we were doing. The major problem was the loud music blasting from the...many ceiling speakers. Conversations were very difficult to hear. A good dinner should include quiet background music at a level that does not impede conversation. It is doubtful that we will return.More

My colleague and I enjoyed the atmosphere, selection, and service here. I took the server's suggestion on the special, Asian pork belly tacos. Quite filling and tasty, though overly salty - as if the sauce had been reduced too much, and the chef didn't taste...it. But other than that, a nearly perfect experience.More
