Nancy is, by far, one of the best waitresses I've encountered in quite a while. Her service was fast, friendly, and she could remember drink orders for our party of 14! Most of us had the special for the night, which was a fried chicken dinner. It, along with the other meals ordered, were more food than one person could... More

THE best chicken fried chicken we've had since leaving Texas 20 years ago. We don't eat beef, so can't review the chicken fried steak, but the REAL, lumpy mashed potatoes & gravy that come with your CFS are killer. The portion sizes are HUGE and always arrive piping hot and fresh. Good beer options, decent but not upscale wine options,... More

I had people from out-of-town who came in looking for steak but something reasonably priced. Texaz Grill fits that bill. One person had the filet, which she thought was excellent. I had the smoked prime rib. The smoking of it gave it a good flavor and the meat was cooked to my medium rare liking. I opted for the mashed... More

Dear MonkeyChuckle, Thanks for bringing your guests in to enjoy a meal. Glad to hear that everyone enjoyed their meals and we didn't break the bank for the evening. By the way, in case you didn't know it, there is parking in the back of the restaurant which is a little easier to deal with. Hope you come back soon... More

This restaurant is obviously a classic. The atmosphere and ambiance are legendary to the regulars in Phoenix. Two years ago I was talking about food with a recent acquaintance. I asked where to get a good chicken fried steak in Phoenix. He immediately said Texas Grill - hands down. I grew up in Tulsa , OK in the sixties and... More

My husband and I had both had great steaks at this restaurant, thus the 4 star rating. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was that the menu was limited. The decor is a bit dated but ultimately, I had a great steak at a great price.

Dear Krisleern, Glad that you and the hubby enjoyed the steaks. We like to give a fair price so we're glad you recognized that! More

It's a little place on a corner. You would think that it's a dive with bad food, while your wrong. This place has some of the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. The staff is great, and the food is always fresh. I can definitely say I will be back next time I'm in town.

We went there with friends while visiting. Nice local, hometown feel. Old restaurant with no frills. Food was good & very reasonably priced, especially when you see the quantity of the food. You can easily share the meals.

We have been going to this restaurant for many years. They have the best chicken fried steak anywhere. It is just a small Old place that has lots of memorabilia. They are usually crowded and parking is in a small lot. But that is just part of the history reaching out to its customers. We are regular customers and love... More

Recently went to Texaz. It was a weekday night and parking was difficult. Tight cramped spaces right on a very busy intersection. The restaurant itself is small. Some would say cozy. For me it was crowded. The decor is as others have described. Every square inch of wall space and ceiling space is covered with stuff. Mostly Willie Nelson type... More

Good service but nothing on the menu had any seasoning. Very bland. Pork chops tasted pan seared with nothing on it. Will not be returning.

1coolbreezy, Sorry you didn't enjoy your meal as much as we would have liked. We don't over season the food, but we do provide you with a ton of condiments so you can add just the right amount of flavor to your meal. More

TEXAZ Grill is a long time Central Phoenix favorite for folks from all walks of life. This is one special place to dine on a superior steak prepared with great care. Take a look around TEXAZ Grill and you will see an amazing collection of unique decorations including historic signs, Texas memorabilia, vintage advertisements and a Juke Box full of 45’s by native born Texans.Although TEXAZ Grill is known for the famed Chicken Fried Steak so big you’ll have two meals, they also serve a wide range of fresh foods. Carefully cooked, high quality chicken, steak, shrimp, prime rib, pork chops and catfish populate the menu at TEXAZ Grill. The shrimp are #1 Mexicans - the best shrimp you can get. The delicious steaks are USDA Choice, perfectly aged and hand cut in house and you will know it on sight when you take your first bite. What you will not experience is the sticker shock like most steak houses. TEXAZ Grill gives a real bang for the buck.
