Went with my wife last night. We shared the bacon candy appetizer, which was very good, but probably not something I'd get again considering the other excellent choices available. We had the Scotch beef and the Gnocchi with lobster for entrees- both were delicious. Apple cobbler and gelato for dessert was very good, but not other-worldly. We also had a... More

My partner and I eat here 3 or 4 times a year. Classy food and unique dishes. The beef carpaccio, with arugula and wonderful olive oil, is best in the US; wafer thin and prime, prime beef. Definitely for two diners! I enjoyed the unusually prepared pan-roasted chicken while my partner wolfed his way through the famous Spaghetti and huuuuge... More

Another great dinner at Tarbell's. We went with friends and the four of us had a great evening. The service is amazing. Our waiter was very eager to please and had some great suggestions. The fried chick peas with parmesan that are complimentary are to die for. So very different and so much better than bread. The wine prices are... More

full range of food at decent pricing. The place is sort of Sports Bar, which drives the noise level up. Staff is on the ball anda pleasure to deal with.

Mark Tarbell is a highly regarded chef for a reason. The food is a perfect fit for me - generous portion sizes, freshest of ingredients and the preparation has plenty of handcrafted sauces and accompaniments. If you like plain food preparation this is not your place. Service was truly excellent and the vibe is cool at this pseudo strip mall... More

Keith provided excellent service and the food was superlatively creative, authentic, and delicious. We ordered several pasta dishes and shared. I think my favorite was the one that marinated in love for four days! All the house-made pastas were deliciously soft and fresh. I visited the website later to get the recipes. We ended the meal with lovely cookies as... More

From the food to the wine, everything was excellent!! You must try the truffle risotto and the bacon candy...a..maz..ing!!! (Eye roll good). Those were my favorites. For the truffle risotto, they actually shave fresh truffles table side over the risotto. The wine menu has an excellent selection! This place is a must!!

This was our first visit to Tarbell, a most popular restaurant in Phoenix, and it did not disappoint. It was a weekend, and crowded as expected, but our service was good, the wine list and menu extensive. My wife had Chilean sea bass and I had the gnocchi with lobster. Both were tasty and finely prepared. For an appetizer I... More

Five of us had a business dinner at Tarbell's last night and I couldn't believe the armature waiter we had... first he kept pushing us to order, then he disappeared when we were ready for wine. We ordered a bottle of red and I had a glass of white... but my glass never showed up. I kept reminding him and... More

The wine list here shows a wonderful attempt is both depth and breadth. I couldnt quite figure out how they priced it. About 50% of the list was overpriced, 25% on par, and 25% priced very well (inexpensive). The food was fine but there was a heavy dose of salt on everything. I found by the end of the meal... More
