Service was subpar, but more importantly the food was mediocre at best. Example: their "salsa" is literally marinara sauce with cilantro tossed in.

We had the fish tacos, seviche tostada, and green corn chilies. They were all delicious! Included warm chips as an appetizer and rice and beans. Service was fast and friendly and reasonable prices. The only glitch was getting the wrong bill, but that was easily remedied.

My regular place for Mexican food in Payson. The food here is flavorful without burning your flavor buds with excess spiciness. Try my favorite, the chili reallano (sp), or any of their specials. Their salsa is excellent!

We stopped in here for a couple cocktails. They were yummy and the chips and dip were standard. Spinach white cheese dip was great.

There are more than your fair share of Mexican restaurants in most cities...but La Sierra stands out for service, food quality and taste, and family atmosphere. Hubby and I both had the ground beef tacos, and they were delicious. Stop in and try it.

Coming up from Phoenix, I usually turn right in Payson to head up to the rim. I have learned to go straight through the main intersection in Payson to get to this fabulous Mexican restaurant. The table salsa is definately gringo style, so ask for the hot salsa and/or the tomatillo salsa. I had the asada plate, and it was... More

I left a very positive review while we were having lunch here yesterday. It turns out this was very premature. My wife contracted violent food poisoning from the shredded beef Taco Salad. She ate nothing else the rest of the day and so there is no doubt that was the cause. Caveat Emptor.

We had good service, good food and great margaritas. Loved their salsa and chips. The price was a good value.

La Sierra Mexican is a pretty good Mexican restaurant. We were seated immediately and greeted warmly. The décor is what you would expect with the bright colors associated with Mexico. Our server was very nice and efficient. She took our drink order and then gave us time to look over what is an extensive menu. Chips and salsa were brought... More
