All reviews shrimp soup tacos soups fresh fish off the beaten path little hole in the wall out of the way made in house order at the counter hot sauce south of the border great price love this place salsa fixings az german
We had visited Tumacacori Historical Park and were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday afternoon.
My husband wanted to check out the border town of Nogales, AZ.
My teenage daughter looked online and saw the good reviews for Cocina La Ley.
My...Spanish is bad, do I do not know if it is correct to say: maravillosa or maravilloso, but this place was fantastic!
German is THE MAN. He was very attentive and could see we were newbies. He explained that we order from the menu posted on the wall and then seat ourselves.
Service was fast, I mean lighting fast! You want 3 fish tacos, you got it.
You order first, are handed your food immediately. Proceed to the fresh toppings bar and find a table.
The place was full.
We initially ordered about 8 tacos, shredded beef and breaded fish for the three of us, then an additional round of the fish.
Very good, very fast, simple ingredients.
The cleanest restrooms we encountered in the state of AZ.
German was super helpful and attentive.
Hi German and thank you!More
I LOVE this place! Family owned, off the beaten path and worth it! This is what I really strive to find when traveling- a little hole in the wall with friendly people doing what they love. The food was quick and amazing! I speak NO...Spanish- and the owner took time to explain things, meet our rambunctious toddler and help us try some new things! I can’t say enough about this place- just try it if your headed their way!More
Discovering that Las Vigas was closed for remodeling we took a chance here and were very happy... Hard to find if you don't know where it is, Cocina was PACKED with locals eating in and taking meals home.. If you're looking for a comfortable dining...experience this is probably not your place but the food you order at the counter comes out quickly. We had the fried shrimp tacos , birria and tacos de cabeza all of which were very good.. small when they come out but by the time you hit the excellent salsa bar and load them up lovely things..not to mention delicious. The have some interesting hot sauce bottles on the tables including a very nice peanut, chili and and hot oil made in house.. .Lots of happy chaos , a bit of squalor but well worth a visit....More
We drove 2 hours for our Global Entry interview and turned to Trip Advisor for a good local meal. The shrimp soup was really full of shrimp with a very flavorful broth. The soup was so full of fish that we made our own taco...out of it. Not the typical Mexican restaurant which is what we were looking for.More
This is what makes America great! Don’t let all of the autobody shops and semi trailer trucks around dissuade you from tryng this place. Simple, straightforward, genuinely fresh fish and beef tacos and soups. Pure authenticity from South of the border. Unbelievably fair prices. THE...nicest people. So worth the drive from neighboring cities.More
I usually take home half of my restaurant lunches, even though this place is small and modest the food is delicious!! I had a “bichito” of marisco, which is a small fish soup with pieces of shrimp and other shellfish. Also, 3 delicious fried breaded...shrimp tacos! I put all the fixings that are out for you to choose from. I ate ALL of this and was completely satisfied!! Btw, super fast service!!More
This is one of those places the locals know about and love it. Three of us went here because of the readings we saw and we were not disappointed. Excellent food. Friendly Service. Reasonably price. It’s a little out-of-the-way and does not serve dinner.
