The food here is well worth the drive up the mountain! Breakfast is fresh and tasty. The service is always friendly and excellent. If you stop in, you MUST try a mountain berry pie.

Yesterday (8/11), even though there was a 40% chance of rain, we decided that a trip to Mount Lemmon was in order. It was hot and humid here in Tucson, and we needed a bit of a break from that. We had not been to the "Iron Door" for over five years, and our last visit was so miserable, that... More

We decided to take a trip up to Mt. Lemmon to get out of the Tucson heat for the day. So we went up the mountain and spent a little time at Summerhaven. Then we went up the hill always to Ski Valley and had lunch at the Iron Door. Our waiter was full of good humor and we had... More

Way too much money for what you get. Service is just strange. We ordered Potato Skins. When we were served, there were two large skins with way too much potato and not enough toppings. Our waiter plopped (yes plopped) down two plates (there were three of us), then dropped the knife, wiped it off on his shirt and set it... More

So the three of us ordered the nachos which we expected to be a plate of nachos with toppings on them, but instead we got this delicious pot of refried beans, guac, sour cream, olives, and melted cheese. The chips were in the side. Though it was not what we thought we were ordering, we all LOVED them. The place... More

It was recommended we dine here, looked forward to it. We drove out to this restaurant, with gorgeous views of the valley below. When we got to the door, we found that they are only open four days a week, and Tuesday was not one of those days. Disappointed.

A simple place. It had rained and was very cool so the outside deck was closed. Normally we sit out there and watch the humming birds, and look at the mountain. The food was good. I always love it up there.

The Iron Door is a rustic restaurant across from the ski area at Mt. Lemmon. Ample parking in the lots on either side of the road. At 8300', this makes a nice summer getaway drive to get away from the heat of the valley floor. Food is just fine and the servers are friendly and efficient. Beer & Wine are... More

There are a lot of nice things about this restaurant. The food was okay, but the setting was great. There is no AC but at 8000'+ not really needed. Temp was 86 degrees but it was a dry heat. Down on the valley floor it was 115, which was a nice difference. We drove up there after church on Sunday.... More

My parents, both in their 80's & life time AZ visitors had never ventured to Mt. Lemmon. With the Iron Door as a destination we decided to go for it! The drive was beautiful, & our meal was perfect! Great waitstaff, bottomless lemonade, delicious cornbread, chili and brats!

Description
The restaurant is located atop the Catalina Mountains and gives a warm home style feeling. With the fireplace crackling in the back round one might think they were in a lodge in a major skiing area. Casual dining, family friendly..
